Reports To: Chief Administrative Officer

Position Summary

The Employee Relations Specialist plays a critical role in promoting a positive employee experience across the organization. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and sound judgment in navigating employee relations matters. The Specialist will support and oversee aspects of talent acquisition, conduct employee interviews, resolve workplace conflicts, and ensure compliance with state and federal employment regulations across all states in which Britelife Recovery operates.

This role works closely with the Chief Administrative Officer to escalate and address sensitive employee relations, legal, or compliance-related concerns.

Key ResponsibilitiesEmployee Relations & Investigations
  • Conduct employee interviews related to performance concerns, complaints, and workplace issues

  • Manage employee relations matters with professionalism, discretion, and consistency

  • Facilitate conflict resolution and mediation between employees and leadership

  • Document investigations, findings, and outcomes with strong attention to detail

  • Identify trends and proactively recommend solutions to improve employee engagement and retention

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
  • Assist in and oversee talent acquisition activities to ensure the selection of qualified, mission-aligned candidates

  • Review and evaluate resumes to assess candidate suitability and identify follow-up interview questions

  • Partner with leadership to determine appropriate salary offers based on company initiatives, internal equity, and market standards

  • Ensure onboarding processes provide a positive, organized, and welcoming experience for new hires

  • Support continuous improvement of recruitment and onboarding practices

Compliance & Risk Management
  • Maintain working knowledge of state and federal employment laws across all operating states, or demonstrate the ability to quickly become proficient

  • Ensure employee relations and hiring practices align with legal and regulatory requirements

  • Collaborate with the Chief Administrative Officer on matters requiring escalation related to legal, compliance, or risk management

  • Support audits, policy updates, and compliance initiatives as needed

Collaboration & Leadership Support
  • Serve as a trusted partner to leaders and employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and best practices

  • Provide guidance on corrective action, performance management, and employee communication

  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations

QualificationsRequired
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 3+ years of experience in employee relations, human resources, or talent acquisition

  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills

  • Proven experience conducting employee interviews and resolving workplace conflicts

  • Ability to evaluate resumes, assess candidate qualifications, and develop targeted interview questions

  • Knowledge of or ability to learn state and federal employment laws

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred
  • Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or substance use disorder treatment settings

  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar)

  • Experience supporting multi-state organizations

  • Familiarity with HRIS and applicant tracking systems
