Your Role:

As the Sourcing Manager, Logistics, you will implement the category strategy. The Sourcing Manager executes the Source to Contract process and develops corresponding Sourcing Strategies including the management of stakeholders, suppliers and demand management activities.

You will run sourcing events ensuring that the correct products and services are sourced at the best value for all sectors of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany (MilliporeSigma, EMD Electronics and EMD Serono). This is done with an entrepreneurial mindset, proactively identifying innovative sourcing opportunities, driving value creation, enhanced digitalization and improved sustainability.

Key accountabilities:

  • Translates Category Strategies into actionable Sourcing Strategies for specific business requirements and sourcing events.
  • Implement sourcing strategies that prioritize sustainable and ethical sourcing practices ensuring compliance with corporate sustainability goals.
  • Establishes and maintains contingency plans for supply disruptions, ensuring sourcing strategies are resilient to unforeseen events.
  • Engages in operational stakeholder management and relationship building to facilitate effective communication and negotiation, as well as high customer-centricity.
  • Identifies innovation from market and supplier interactions to fuel the companys growth journey.
  • Executes the Source to Contract process by running comprehensive sourcing activities including RFXs management, supplier evaluations and performance analysis.
  • Drives negotiations and collaborates with suppliers focusing on best value outcomes, risk and cost-effectiveness, as well as sustainability aspects.
  • Collaborate with Business Partners to ensure sourcing decisions align with business needs.
  • Provides regular feedback to Head of Sourcing Logistics on sourcing outcomes, market trends and supplier performance to inform and refine category strategies.

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree in business administration or similar
  • Minimum 5 years job experience in supply chain management/logistics or Sourcing
  • Fluent in English language

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional languages preferred
  • Advanced understanding of international transportation law and regulations
  • Global Sourcing
  • Negotiation, influencing and strong oral and written communication
  • Analytical skills
  • Ability to handle large datasets and proficiency in MS office
  • Supplier Relationship Management

Location: Preferred St. Louis, MO; Onsite (Hybrid); Open to US Remote, preferably local to one of our sites

Travel: <10%; International and Domestic

Pay range for this position: $100,800.00 - $153,600.00

The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors.
