Senior Manager of Product Compliance Engineering

We are seeking a Senior Manager of Product Compliance Engineering to join Global Product Compliance and Sustainable Impact organization. The role will lead the product compliance engineering operations with multiple business stakeholders to ensure the product compliance for global marker access.

Key Responsibilities

  • Global Compliance Strategy:Develop and implement a product lifecycle compliance roadmap to ensure that products comply withEMC (FCC/CE), Safety (IEC 62368-1), Telecom (RF/5G), energy efficiency standards, and Cybersecurity from the development stage.
  • Team Leadership and Talent Development:Manage, coach, and develop a team of multi-national compliance engineers to ensure projects achieve organizational goals and motivate the team to pursue excellence in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategical development to establish a compliance system and process:Develop, implement, and oversee company-wide computer product compliance plans, and translate regulatory requirements into specific technical requirements in product development and sustaining stages.
  • Cross-departmental collaboration and communication:Act as a bridge between the technical team (engineering, architects) and non-technical stakeholders (legal, senior management, auditors), interpreting complex technical risks into easily understandable business insights.
  • Risk assessment and audit management:Lead the team with product risk assessment, implement changes in global regulatory requirements (such as NRTL, CE, CCC, BIS and other international product regulations), and serve as the main communication channel with business stakeholders.
  • Hardware lifecycle compliance: Ensure that products comply with international standards from R&D to mass production (NPI process), and comply withworldwide regulationsduring product lifecycle.
  • Supply chain risk management:Oversee the compliance evaluation and testing capabilities of third-party manufacturers (ODMs) and parts suppliers to complete the certificate approvals and to reduce technical compliance risks in the supply chain.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Professional background:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience:Typically requires 10+ years of product compliance or product management experience, and at least 8-10 years of experience in people management or leading large-scale technical projects.
  • Multinational Remote Team Leader: Manage compliance engineers located across the world. Develop and utilize tools in process automation and data management to foster asynchronous collaboration and establish a results-oriented remote work culture.
  • Extreme transparency:Maintaining a high degree of transparency of information in remote environments, ensuring that all decision-making processes are digitally traceable.
  • Crisis Communication:In the face of emergencies such as obstruction of product import customs clearance or failure to pass testing, the system can quickly organize a cross-border online war room and make decisions.


Education & Experience Recommended
Four-year or Graduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
Typically has 10+ years of job-related experience or 8-10 years of management experience, preferably in engineering design, engineering design tools and software packages, or a related field.
