Job description

This is a remote online position. Hebrew Instructors residing in any country are invited to apply.

Who We Are

We are a premier, accredited online language school seeking passionate Hebrew language instructors to join our team for the 2026-27 school year.

At LanguageBird, we believe meaningful learning happens through strong relationships, engaging instruction, and a commitment to continuous growth. We value educators who take initiative, bring positive energy to their work, and create supportive learning environments where students feel challenged, connected, and empowered to succeed.

We offer Middle School and High School Hebrew Levels 1–6+, as well as tutoring, conversational, and test-preparation courses. Our curriculum is ACTFL-aligned, and we are textbook-free.

Rather than relying on traditional textbooks, we use ACTFL Can-Do Statements and real-world communication contexts to guide instruction. Our courses emphasize Project-Based Learning, meaningful communication, and authentic language use. We do not assess students through traditional assessments. Instead, instructors facilitate engaging learning experiences using a variety of digital tools and authentic resources and evaluate student growth through projects, participation, and performance-based assessments.
While we provide syllabi and some, instructional guidance and resources, instructors are encouraged to bring creativity, professional expertise, and instructional flexibility to their lessons to meet the unique needs of each learner.

If you are student-centered, creative, technologically confident, and passionate about helping learners build language proficiency through meaningful connections, you will fit right in.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach engaging one-on-one online lessons using Microsoft Teams.
  • Create a supportive and personalized learning environment that promotes student engagement, confidence, and success.
  • Assign and provide timely feedback on class performance, homework assignments, and projects.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate grades and academic records.
  • Communicate professionally and proactively with students, families, and LanguageBird staff as needed.
  • Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and respect in all interactions.
  • Participate in required training .

Requirements:

  • 1–2+ years of experience teaching Hebrew (online and/or in a school setting).
  • Native-like proficiency in Hebrew.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience working with middle school and/or high school students preferred.
  • Familiarity with educational technology and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while meeting deadlines and expectations.
  • Evening availability in U.S. time zones (PST preferred).

Please note: Submitted resumes must be in English. Applications without the required video submission will not be considered.

Instructors onboarded for the 2026–2027 school year may begin teaching prior to the official start of the school year.

Job Type: Contract

LanguageBird is an equal-opportunity employer.
LanguageBird does not sponsor US work visas. Instructors residing outside the United States are hired under international contracts, while those legally authorized to work in the United States are hired under U.S.-based contracts. Compensation is determined by teaching experience, education, and other qualifications relevant to the role.

I understand and accept that if  selected as a LanguageBird instructor, my photo and biography will be displayed on LanguageBird's website.
