Grady Counseling Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMFT, LMHC, LCSW) to join our team as a full-time mental health therapist. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed mental health assessments to determine the specific needs of children and adolescents, using evidence-based practices to inform your evaluations.
  • Develop and implement tailored treatment plans that consider individual developmental stages and family dynamics, ensuring culturally sensitive approaches are utilized.
  • Provide effective therapeutic interventions, including individual and family therapy, to address a variety of mental health issues and promote healthy coping strategies.
  • Facilitate family therapy sessions that empower parents and caregivers to foster nurturing environments for their children.
  • Engage in collaborative consultations with child psychiatrists to ensure comprehensive and cohesive mental health care.
  • Offer crisis intervention when necessary, supporting minors facing acute mental health emergencies.
  • Educate both patients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment options, and community resources available for further support.
  • Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in compliance with ethical and legal standards using electronic health record systems.
  • Actively participate in team meetings, sharing insights and developing strategies within a multidisciplinary team framework.
  • Stay informed on the latest research and advancements in child and adolescent mental health to enhance treatment modalities.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on children and adolescents facing mental health challenges. You will have the opportunity to work closely with young individuals from diverse backgrounds, addressing their unique experiences and needs. Your role is pivotal in guiding these individuals and their families toward healthier, more resilient futures.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
  • A current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York.
  • A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience is preferred, with a strong background in child and adolescent mental health.
  • Robust knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities and a hands-on understanding of child and adolescent therapy techniques.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, complemented by a compassionate and child-centered approach.
  • Capability to build rapport with children, adolescents, and their families while facilitating a supportive atmosphere.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and familiarity with telehealth platforms.

Preferred Experience
  • Experience in outpatient settings, specifically focused on child and adolescent mental health.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 115,000 to 130,000, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
