While our primary facility operates as an outpatient office, our innovative remote services ensure accessibility for clients needing mental health support. This setting allows you, as a counselor, to focus on delivering specialized care without the constraints of a typical clinic environment.

• Conduct preliminary mental health evaluations during initial consultations to gather comprehensive client history and formulate diagnoses.
• Develop and implement tailored treatment plans based on individual assessments, focusing on actionable recovery goals.
• Facilitate engaging and therapeutically beneficial individual and group therapy sessions, fostering an open dialogue among participants.
• Monitor and document client progress, adjusting treatment strategies in response to clients' evolving mental health needs.
• Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists and social workers, to coordinate and enhance client care.
• Manage follow-up procedures for clients receiving hospital care, ensuring that post-discharge strategies are effectively implemented.
• Identify and address behavior patterns that may hinder clients' recovery processes, employing evidence-based methodologies.
• Support families and primary caregivers in understanding and managing their loved ones’ mental health challenges through guidance and education.

You will engage with a varied client base that includes individuals struggling with mood disorders, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, and addiction. This diversity requires a nuanced understanding of different life experiences, cultural contexts, and treatment needs. Your ability to adapt therapeutic approaches to resonate with each client's personal journey is essential for fostering positive outcomes.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in New York State.
• Successful completion of the National Counselor Examination (NCE) or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Excelling in proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems, particularly AVATAR, to document client interactions and treatment progress efficiently.
• Strong foundational knowledge of psychotherapeutic methods and best practices as endorsed by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on active listening and effective dialogue.

• Previous clinical experience in mental health counseling, particularly with dual diagnosis clients, is highly desired.
• Experience in utilizing evidence-based practices and interventions, alongside an understanding of addiction disorders.
• Familiarity with the effects of psychotropic medication on client treatment and recovery processes.
• Proven ability to build rapport with clients and exhibit exceptional interpersonal and empathetic skills.
