Business & Ecommerce Analyst (Remote)

Reports to: Director of eCommerce, La Tourangelle, NY
Work Location: Fully Remote
Job Type: Full-Time
Preferred Locations: NY, NJ, NC, CA, or OR
Compensation: $70,000–$80,000 + bonus + benefits

About the Role

La Tourangelle is seeking a highly analytical, commercially minded, and proactive Business Data Analyst to help drive visibility, forecasting accuracy, and business performance across our growing digital channels.

This role plays a critical part in owning demand forecasting, identifying business risks and opportunities, and translating complex data into actionable recommendations that improve operational and commercial outcomes.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capability with business judgment, thrives in fast-paced environments, and proactively identifies opportunities to improve sales performance, inventory health, profitability, and marketplace execution. This is not simply a reporting role — this position is expected to influence decisions, challenge assumptions with data, and help drive the business forward.

Key Responsibilities

Demand Forecasting & Inventory Planning (Primary Ownership Area)

  • Own forecasting and demand planning across e-commerce channels using historical sales data, promotional calendars, seasonality, inventory trends, and marketplace dynamics
  • Continuously improve forecast accuracy and identify risks related to inventory health, out-of-stocks, excess inventory, and promotional timing
  • Partner closely with supply chain, operations, and sales teams to align forecasts with inventory planning and operational execution
  • Monitor demand fluctuations and proactively recommend corrective actions or adjustments

E-commerce Performance & Profitability Analysis

  • Analyze SKU, channel, and promotional performance to identify growth opportunities and operational risks
  • Monitor key profitability drivers including COGS, freight, marketplace fees, returns, advertising investments, and promotional performance
  • Evaluate pricing and promotional effectiveness to balance competitiveness, revenue growth, and margin performance
  • Translate analytical findings into operational and commercial recommendations that improve business outcomes

Marketplace & Channel Analytics

  • Support performance analysis across Amazon, Shopify, Walmart Marketplace, and other e-commerce platforms
  • Monitor marketplace trends, customer behavior, competitive activity, and channel performance metrics
  • Identify opportunities to improve product visibility, conversion, profitability, and operational execution across marketplaces
  • Partner with marketing and e-commerce leadership to evaluate advertising performance and promotional effectiveness

Reporting, Business Visibility & Decision Support

  • Build and maintain reporting tools, dashboards, and forecasting models that improve business visibility and decision-making
  • Deliver clear, actionable insights to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Simplify complex data into practical business recommendations that drive execution and accountability
  • Identify root causes behind performance changes and recommend corrective actions

Cross-Functional Business Partnership

  • Partner strategically with marketing, operations, finance, and supply chain teams to improve forecasting accuracy and overall business performance
  • Support cross-functional planning initiatives and operational decision-making through data-driven insights
  • Operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities and ambiguity

What Success Looks Like in This Role

  • Improved forecasting accuracy and stronger inventory alignment
  • Better visibility into e-commerce performance drivers and profitability trends
  • Faster identification of risks and opportunities across channels and SKUs
  • Actionable recommendations that improve operational and commercial performance
  • Strong cross-functional trust and partnership across operations, supply chain, marketing, and finance
  • Improved decision-making through clear, practical business insights

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Analytics, Supply Chain, Finance, or related field
  • 2–5 years of experience in data analytics, demand planning, forecasting, business analytics, or related commercial roles
  • Strong analytical capability with advanced Excel skills including forecasting, scenario modeling, pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis
  • Experience working with forecasting, inventory planning, pricing analysis, or profitability analysis strongly preferred
  • Experience with Python, SQL, and BI tools for reporting automation, forecasting support, workflow optimization, and data analysis is highly valued
  • Ability to identify trends, solve problems independently, and translate data into actionable business recommendations
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence decisions across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with Amazon, Shopify, Walmart Marketplace, retail media platforms, or other e-commerce environments is strongly preferred, but candidates with strong analytical, forecasting, or business intelligence backgrounds from adjacent industries are also encouraged to apply
  • Strong understanding of marketplace business dynamics, including CPG or online retail environments
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving environments with shifting priorities and ambiguity
