We are seekinga Staff Ecologist III to join our growing teamin Fresno, CA. In this role, you will assist clients through all project phases, from conception and planning to implementation and follow-up monitoring.

Our projects include traditional and renewable energy, water resources, highways and roads, private and commercial development, farming and dairy operations, timber harvest, mining, conservation and management, and ecological research and monitoring. Apply today and make a lasting impact.

What You'll Do:

  • Leads the technical direction of large-scale ecological studies and environmental impact assessments
  • May serve as the primary client liaison for complex projects, managing project scope, budget, and schedule
  • Mentors and coaches junior and mid-level ecologists
  • Contributes to internal knowledge management and may represent the organization in scientific or regulatory forums
  • Coordination with regulatory agencies and clients on assigned projects, managing field crews during site investigations, and contributing to quality review of junior staff work products
  • Supports proposal development and scope-of-work preparation

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or Biology
  • M.S. or PhD preferred
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in ecological consulting, regulatory compliance, or natural resource management. Demonstrated record of published work, technical leadership, or regulatory engagement
  • Advanced certifications, such as Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) or Certificated Wildlife Biologist (CWB) are preferred
  • Expert-level mastery of Ecosystem Science, Landscape Ecology, and Ecological Systems at a landscape and regional scale
  • Deep proficiency in Wildlife Ecology, Wildlife Biology, and Species Survival Planning for sensitive or threatened species
  • Advanced Riparian and Invertebrate Zoology assessment capabilities
  • Environmentalism and environmental policy literacy for regulatory navigation
  • Environmental Accounting and Sustainability Impact Integration
  • Advanced remote sensing
  • Silvics and Sustainable Horticulture, where applicable to habitat restoration projects
  • Aligns ecological practice priorities with broader organizational and client objectives; influences project strategy and scientific direction
  • Embraces new tools, including AI-driven ecological modeling and data analytics platforms, to enhance project outcomes
