Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients presenting with eating disorders and related mental health challenges, taking into consideration their symptoms and treatment needs.
  • Develop tailored treatment plans based on comprehensive evaluations, collaborating closely with clients to establish realistic recovery goals.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic methods such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients transform their relationships with food, body image, and self-worth.
  • Facilitate engaging therapy sessions that address and challenge clientsโ€™ distorted beliefs regarding eating behaviors and self-esteem, fostering a safe and supportive atmosphere.
  • Empower clients to develop healthy coping mechanisms, improve emotional regulation, and cultivate skills that enable them to resist disordered behaviors.
  • Collaborate with the broader treatment team to ensure that care is coordinated effectively and that clientsโ€™ needs are addressed holistically.
  • Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families, enhancing their understanding of eating disorders while promoting an empathetic and supportive recovery environment.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Engage in team meetings, case discussions, and continuous professional development to enhance your clinical competencies and knowledge of eating disorder treatments.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of your role will be working with individuals struggling with various eating disorders. You will guide clients from diverse backgrounds, helping them to rebuild their self-image and restore their relationship with food in a compassionate and evidence-based manner.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited program.
  • Active licensure in the state of Tennessee as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT.
  • Experience and proficiency in evidence-based therapies, specifically CBT, DBT, and ACT.
  • A deep understanding of the complexities surrounding eating disorders and any co-occurring mental health conditions.
  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to establish a trusting rapport with clients and their families.
Preferred Experience
