Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' eating disorder symptoms and identify any co-occurring mental health conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each clientโ€™s specific needs, fostering collaboration to establish achievable recovery goals.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), to guide clients toward a healthier relationship with food and body image.
  • Facilitate therapy sessions that challenge and restructure clients' distorted beliefs regarding food, body image, and self-esteem.
  • Teach clients coping strategies for emotional regulation, resilience, and strategies to combat disordered eating behaviors.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with other treatment team members to coordinate holistic care and ensure continuous support throughout the treatment journey.
  • Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families, enhancing their understanding of the complexities of eating disorders to promote a nurturing recovery atmosphere.
  • Maintain compliance with legal and ethical standards by documenting treatment plans, assessments, and client progress in a timely manner.
  • Participate in continuous professional development through team meetings, case discussions, and training sessions to stay abreast of current trends in eating disorder treatment.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on clients dealing with various eating disorders and accompanying psychological challenges. You will serve a varied demographic, adjusting your therapeutic approach to accommodate diverse backgrounds and individual needs, ensuring that each client feels seen, validated, and empowered throughout their recovery process.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • Depth of knowledge and expertise in evidence-based treatment methods specific to eating disorders, including CBT, DBT, and ACT.
  • Strong comprehension of the multifaceted nature of eating disorders and recognition of co-occurring mental health conditions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills that facilitate rapport-building and trust with clients.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of two years of professional experience working directly with clients suffering from eating disorders.
