Work Environment

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough intake assessments with new clients to determine their mental health status and customize a therapeutic plan to address their unique needs.
  • Provide ongoing individual and group therapy sessions, implementing evidence-based treatment modalities tailored to the specific conditions presented by clients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care, including making referrals to psychiatrists or other specialists when appropriate.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems to maintain accurate and up-to-date client documentation while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Monitor clientsโ€™ progress over time and adjust therapy techniques as necessary to promote optimal treatment outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily engage with a diverse clientele encompassing various age groups and backgrounds who may be dealing with a range of mental health issues, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, and eating disorders. Your expertise will be vital in creating an inclusive therapeutic environment that respects and acknowledges cultural differences while promoting recovery and resilience.

Qualifications
  • A masterโ€™s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
  • A current and valid license as an LMFT, LPC/MHSP, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Tennessee is mandatory.
  • A minimum of four years of professional mental health counseling experience, specifically in outpatient settings.
  • Strong understanding of various mental health disorders and proficiency in evidence-based treatment approaches.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations, showing cultural competence and sensitivity in therapeutic practices.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in both individual and group therapy settings, with familiarity in leading group sessions to foster peer support.
