Reasons Eating Disorder Center (Reasons) is seeking candidate professionals, preferably with previous experience working with eating disorders, trauma, substance use and LGBTQIA+ communities, to provide compassionate care to our diverse patients for virtual partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs. Candidates must be in California, but the job is online.
Job Description : The Reasons Virtual Program Therapist performs functions including assisting adult and adolescent patients in meeting their biopsychosocial needs while enabling them to access their optimal level of emotional health through therapeutic treatment, comprising individual therapy, psych diagnostic assessment, teaching, completing specialized clinical social work services for patients receiving care, crisis intervention, short-term and long-term family therapy, group therapy, milieu management, and providing information and referrals as needed.
Key Responsibilities include:
  • Formulate and conduct educational, therapeutic, and/or support groups online.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, health care team members and community providers regarding resident status and progress.
  • Interact and communicate with community agencies in assessment of and service to patients.
  • Provide liaison and referral services to community agencies and appears in court when requested or subpoenaed.
  • Maintain confidentiality in compliance with professional ethics according to professional and facility standards.

Qualifications
Requirements:
Education: Master's Degree required from an accredited college or university, in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field preferred.
Experience: Program Therapist requires a minimum of one (1) year experience in a psychiatric health care setting, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills; and strong clinical assessment skills, preferred. For a specialty program (for example, Eating Disorders) experience with that population, is preferred. In lieu of experience, specialized education and training may be acceptable.
Licensure: Program Therapist must be master's prepared or higher. Licensed and/or License-eligible therapist, preferred.
Additional Requirements: A familiarity and ease with online video-assisted communication. May be required to work flexible hours and overtime. Saturday coverage as needed. Bilingual (Spanish) Highly Preferred.
