Pre-Litigation Paralegal

Dormer Harpring, LLC

Denver, CO • On-site, Remote

$75K/yr

Full-time

Posted 2 days ago

Job description

We are looking for a new team member to begin working full-time for our growing plaintiffs’ personal injury law firm. As a pre-litigation paralegal, the core of the job requires keeping clients up to date on their case, hearing their concerns, being a liaison between the client and the Team's attorney, and helping solve problems that may arise prior to litigation.

Duties also include setting up the client's file, collecting evidence like medical records and incident reports, doing investigative work to find evidence of liability, assisting in getting clients to good doctors when required, and drafting and sending settlement demands to insurance companies to try and reach a settlement when possible without the need to file a lawsuit. The right candidate will work within a team of one associate lawyer, a litigation paralegal, and a legal assistant.

We are a collaborative firm, but still value self-starters. A willingness to learn and use the systems in place at our firm - rather than doing things based on prior experience - is important. However, we value everyone's input at the firm and routinely make changes to systems based on the experience or varied opinions of our whole team.

We utilize FileVine as our case management system and implement various software automations to streamline our team's workflow. As a largely paperless firm, our pre-litigation paralegals can handle most, if not all, of their responsibilities remotely. However, we prefer our team to maintain a hybrid presence in the office until they are fully trained and demonstrate their capabilities, after which they have the option to work entirely remotely.

Benefits include unlimited paid vacation & sick time, access to 401(k), access to firm health insurance, remote & flexible working schedules, access to a four-day work-week after meeting performance goals, and periodic bonuses.

Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 annually + quarterly performance bonuses
