Key responsibilities

  • Produce floor plans, layouts, and drawings for trade shows and events using AutoCAD Release 2018 software.

  • Ensure that event layouts comply with specifications and Fire Department codes and regulations, and submit plans for timely approval.

  • Maintain and update drawings and facility records for assigned cities or regions.


Job description

Responsibilities
  • Produce floor plans, layouts and drawings for GES trade shows and events using AutoCAD Release 2018 software.
  • Ensures the show/event layout is properly designed and drawn according to specifications outlined by Client Services Manager and Client.
  • Ensures that all Fire Department codes and regulations are followed on each floor plan.
  • Ensure all floor plans are not only submitted to Fire Department jurisdictions in a timely manner, but also ensure they are approved before show opening.
  • Ensure all facilities are kept current and accurate in assigned cities/regions.
  • Maintains drawings of all convention and meeting room facilities assigned.
  • Provide timely technical assistance and solutions to the team.
  • Participate in project meetings and conference calls as required.
  • Maintain all revisions of project drawings, posting the updated drawing to the required internal drive when completed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and deemed necessary of the position

Qualifications
  • Minimum two years of experience in drafting, using AutoCAD software version 2018 or higher.
  • Convention and Trade Show experience preferred, but not required; industry specific training will be provided.
  • Proficient computer skills including Excel and Word.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.

Work Environment
  • May require overtime during busy periods
  • Work performed in an office setting - sitting at a computer
  • 90% Work may involve repetitive motion (i.e. constant keying, using fingers or grasping of objects).
  • May be required to lift and maneuver 20 lb rolls of paper for the plotters
