We are committed to developing future talent within the surveying and drafting industry through hands-on training and real-world experience.
Position Overview
CBG Surveying is seeking motivated and detail-oriented students or entry-level candidates for our Summer 2026 Seasonal Pre-Drafter Internship Program. This is an in-office Pre-Drafter position designed to introduce candidates to the fundamentals of CAD drafting and land surveying support work.
This position will focus on preparing jobs for production drafters by drawing linework, placing symbols, organizing files, and assisting with basic drafting preparation tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in AutoCAD, drafting, engineering, surveying, construction, or design-related fields who is looking to gain hands-on industry experience and paid on-the-job training.
Responsibilities
• Assist with pre-drafting setup and preparation for residential surveying projects.
• Draw linework and insert symbols using company drafting standards.
• Organize and prepare files for production drafters and CAD technicians.
• Learn basic CAD drafting processes and surveying terminology.
• Review project information, sketches, notes, and survey data for drafting preparation.
• Maintain accuracy and attention to detail while working in a fast-paced environment.
• Work closely with drafting staff and management to support department production goals.
