The mission of University Advancement is to secure support for NC State University in terms of dollars, service, and engagement by delivering an integrated program of development, alumni relations and advancement services. Our objective is to build deep and long-term relationships with alumni and other stakeholders, and partners that will ensure increased support to NC State in the future.

Advancement Services provides timely, accurate and actionable resources to enhance fundraising and engagement activities at NC State University. We achieve this through effective business intelligence and reporting, compelling donor research and analysis, innovative technology, quality donor and alumni information, and superior customer service, all while applying ethical gift and data management practices. Advancement Services supports the operations of Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving and University Development as well as college and unit advancement offices. The unit oversees the University's alumni & donor database (Ellucian's Advance Web solution), analytics and reporting systems, processing gifts and conducting research about potential contribution opportunities. Advancement Services also maintains financial records, conducts donor research, receipts private gifts following the NC State Standard Operating Procedures for Acceptance of Gifts, administers the corporate matching gifts program, updates & verifies alumni records, plans and manages gift agreements & endowment reports.

The Office of Donor Services is an award-winning team committed to excellence and innovation. The office supports both standard and non-standard gift agreements, distinguished professorship agreements, endowment reporting, donor and honoree legacy pages, and naming opportunities.

Donor Services also serves as a key partner to fundraisers, providing guidance on IRS, federal, and state laws and regulations related to charitable giving and gift agreements. Donor Services also conducts naming evaluations for donors seeking to name facilities, programs, and positions, and guides development officers through established processes and policies.

The Donor Services Specialist ensures that all gift agreements and related processes, many of which are legally binding, are developed and managed in compliance with university, foundation, federal, and state policies and practices. Donor Services seeks a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative team environment. 
The ideal candidate will possess exceptional writing skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple detail-oriented responsibilities simultaneously while collaborating closely with frontline fundraising staff. This position reports to the Associate Director of Donor Services.
