Job description

Job Summary

Job Duties
  • Be fully engaged and consistently look for improvement measures and solutions to issues that hinder your ability to be successful.
  • Processes residential mortgage loans for all programs offered by Dart Bank in a quality consistent with all company policies and procedures as well as meeting all regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains a pipeline of loans and is responsible for the timely and compliant flow of such loans through the process.
  • Contacts all borrowers within 24 hours of receiving the file to introduce yourself and request outstanding documentation.
  • Obtains and reviews necessary loan documentation and updates Encompass as needed prior to submitting to Underwriting for loan approval.
  • Monitors and ensures closing dates and company deadlines are met.
  • Responsible for following company policies and procedures as directed. Never employs workarounds to procedures or policies.
  • Communicates with buyers, sellers, title companies, builders, and agents.
  • Communicates with borrowers and third parties to obtain loan documentation both verbally and via email.
  • Communicate with Mortgage Bankers and their assistants to ensure the processing and underwriting components are completed in time to meet the closing date.
  • Obtains and verifies that all underwriting conditions are received, reviewed, and cleared by the underwriter, and prepares the file for submission to the Closing Department.
  • Identifying and resolving any discrepancies with data entry and or documentation received.
  • Provides excellent customer service by effectively communicating and cooperating with all internal and external customers.
  • Keeps abreast of changes in policies and procedures, standards, and regulations applicable to the company and the mortgage industry. Able to manage high volume of activity and maintain production goals
  • Adaptability and Candor: You will be working with some of the newest technology in the mortgage industry. As it evolves, we will ask you for your feedback to improve our products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to handle delicate situations with diplomacy and tact
  • Actively participate in and advocate for the bank's training and development programs and commitment to learning.
  • Effective and timely communication with the Underwriter regarding any changes made to the loan file.
  • Responsible for data integrity, completeness, accuracy, timeframes and effectively manages e-folder/conditions.
  • Bring any issues to management/team lead as soon as they arise.
  • Works as a team to ensure best practices, efficiencies, and regular brainstorms ways to improve.
  • Responsible for following company policies and procedures as directed. Never employ workarounds to procedures or policies.
  • Adheres to all Federal and State laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Experience
    • 6 months to two years of prior mortgage loan processing experience
    • Experience with web based automated underwriting systems and loan origination systems, including Encompass and Blend is preferred.
    • Experience working with correspondent lenders preferred.
    • Government lending experience preferred but not required.
