CAD Designer Position Overview GCR is seeking a skilled CAD Designer to support the design and development of simple assemblies and fixtures. This role focuses heavily on creating accurate 2D drawings from existing 3D models and collaborating closely with engineering teams. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, communicative, and highly proficient in CAD tools, with a strong emphasis on 2D drafting.

Key Responsibilities Create detailed 2D drawings from 3D models for manufacturing and assembly Develop and modify drawings for simple assemblies and fixtures (typically involving 2–3 material types) Interpret existing designs and generate new drawings based on provided direction Collaborate with process engineers, mechanical engineers, and specialized engineering teams Support a high-mix, low-volume environment where designs frequently vary Ensure accuracy, clarity, and completeness of all technical drawings Participate in occasional hands-on assembly work, depending on project needs and individual preference Required Qualifications Proven experience in CAD design, with a strong emphasis on 2D drafting Proficiency in SolidWorks (or comparable CAD software) Experience creating drawings from existing models and modifying legacy designs Ability to follow technical instructions and translate them into precise drawings Strong attention to detail and organizational skills One year contract to hire arrangement.
