Position Description

The EDI Developer at Applied Medical plays a critical role in delivering high-quality Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) solutions that support business objectives and enhance operational efficiency. This position focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining complex EDI systems while collaborating with developers, business analysts, and trading partners. Candidates experienced in EDI development, IBM Sterling B2B Integrator, or similar business-process and data-transformation tools will find this role impactful and rewarding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) production operations to ensure seamless data exchange.
  • Design, develop, and deploy any-to-any mappings based on internal and external partner requirements.
  • Configure EDI partners in IBM Sterling B2B Integrator, SAP, and related systems.
  • Monitor EDI production processes within IBM Sterling B2B Integrator and SAP environments.
  • Collaborate with the Customer Relations team to implement new trading partner relationships.
  • Modify existing business processes within IBM Sterling B2B Integrator to meet evolving requirements.
  • Provide technical documentation for EDI processes and configurations.
  • Offer after-hours remote support for critical EDI production operations as needed.

  • Drive process improvements and ensure timely onboarding of new trading partners.
  • Deliver accurate mappings and configurations that support order-to-cash workflows.

  • Contribute to system upgrades and enhancements with minimal disruption to operations.

Position Requirements

This Position Requires the Following Skills and Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of four years of experience in EDI development or a similar role.
  •  Strong knowledge of EDI standards and document formats, including ANSI X12 (810, 850, 855, 856, 867), EDIFACT (ORDERS, ORDRSP, INVOIC, DESADV, PRICAT), XML, CSV, flat file, and UBL/Peppol exchange formats.
  • Experience with EDI translation tools and mapping software.
  • Familiarity with configuring communication protocols such as AS2, FTP, and SFTP.
  • Knowledge of SAP ERP, SAP IDOCs, and EDI-related SAP configuration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

  • Hands-on experience with IBM Sterling B2B Integrator.
  • Previous application development experience.
  • Familiarity with order-to-cash document flow and related SAP processes.
