Job description

We are partnered with a wonderful organization that is seeking a Senior System Business Analyst with strong experience in hospital Revenue Cycle operations and a passion for leveraging data, automation, and AI-driven solutions. This role will serve as a key bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, driving process improvements, system enhancements, and advanced analytics across revenue cycle functions.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills, technical proficiency, and a deep understanding of healthcare financial workflows to identify opportunities for automation, reporting optimization, and operational efficiency.

This is a remote 2-year contract that is salaried only. Must work West Coast business hours.

What will I be doing?

  • Partner with Revenue Cycle stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements
  • Evaluate current-state workflows and identify opportunities for automation, integration, and process improvement
  • Design and implement solutions leveraging Microsoft Power Platform and reporting tools
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and data models to support operational and leadership decision-making
  • Collaborate with IT and development teams to translate business needs into functional and technical solutions
  • Create detailed process documentation, functional design documents, and user stories
  • Conduct system and workflow analysis to recommend scalable and sustainable improvements
  • Support testing, validation, and implementation of new solutions and enhancements

What requirements do I need?

Healthcare / Revenue Cycle:

  • Strong knowledge of hospital Revenue Cycle operations, including patient access, billing, claims, and collections workflows
  • Experience working with healthcare financial data and reporting

Power Platform & AI:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience building, training, and deploying AI-powered solutions within Microsoft Power Platform, including tools such as AI Builder and Copilot Studio

Power Automate:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience and expertise in developing complex Desktop and Cloud flows
  • Experience utilizing:
    • SQL database connectors
    • Machine runtimes
    • Web scraping techniques

Power BI:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience developing interactive dashboards and reports, including:
    • Power Query transformations
    • Custom DAX measures
    • Advanced conditional formatting

MS SQL:

  • Intermediate proficiency in:
    • Writing SQL queries
    • Joining multiple tables
    • Filtering and manipulating data to support reporting and automation
  • Epic SQL 1 and SQL 2 Self-Study preferred

Python

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in developing and managing Python scripts.

Microsoft Excel:

  • Advanced proficiency, including:
    • Writing macros (VBA)
    • Managing complex data models

Requirements & Documentation:

  • 5+ years of experience gathering technical requirements from stakeholders
  • 5+ years of experience creating workflow documentation, including:
    • Process maps
    • Functional design documents
    • User stories
    • Prepare high-level requirement documentation (HLD) and software requirement specifications (SRS)
    • Create testing plan and script
    • Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

System Analysis:

  • 5+ years of experience analyzing operational workflows and recommending integration and automation solutions
