Job description

Product Liability Defense Litigation


A prestigious global law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant/Legal Secretary to support its Product Liability Defense Litigation Practice Group. This is a fully remote opportunity for candidates located in Arizona, supporting a team of 5–7 attorneys based in the firm's San Francisco office.


Compensation

$65,000 – $80,000, depending on experience, education, and qualifications.


Schedule

  • 37.5-hour workweek
  • 8:30 AM–5:00 PM or 9:00 AM–5:30 PM
  • Typically 2–10 hours of paid overtime per week

What We're Looking For

  • 3–5 years of defense litigation experience in a law firm environment
  • Experience supporting Product Liability Defense attorneys is highly preferred
  • Strong tenure and employment stability are critical
  • Experience with California courts and California state and federal e-filing
  • Experience using iManage
  • Background with a medium-to-large law firm preferred
  • Plaintiff-side litigation experience will not be considered

Responsibilities

  • Draft, revise, and format legal documents, correspondence, memoranda, and emails
  • Electronically file documents in California state and federal courts
  • Maintain client and case files
  • Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, and scheduling
  • Coordinate meetings, travel arrangements, and conferences
  • Prepare expense reports, check requests, and time entries as needed
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel
  • Collaborate closely with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff
  • Maintain proficiency with firm technology and procedures


Qualifications

  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred
  • 3+ years of defense litigation experience as a Legal Assistant, Legal Secretary, or Paralegal
  • Experience in Product Liability Defense, Insurance Defense, or General Defense Litigation preferred
  • Strong California state and federal e-filing experience required
  • Experience with iManage required
  • Typing speed of 50–60 WPM
  • Strong multitasking, organization, and prioritization skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
