Engineering Digital Solutions (EDS) was formed with a vision to deliver and sustain software solutions for the engineering function. The engineering function comprises about 9 disciplines with the largest user’s base being Project, Systems, Software, Mechanical and Electrical discipline. A signification energy within EDS is dedicated to a one Collins Product Lifecycle Management Solution.

This is a critical role for someone passionate about shaping digital engineering landscape—reducing barriers, improving performance, and enabling seamless collaboration.

This role will support the implementation, sustainment, and evolution of the tools and services that support mechanical design, simulation, product development, and collaboration across Collins Aerospace in alignment with the EDS organization’s overall platform and infrastructure, RTX and Collins strategies. The goal is to empower mechanical engineers with an ecosystem of tools and workflows that accelerate innovation, improve quality, and scale efficiently.

What YOU will do:

  • Experience in Mechanical Design within Aerospace.

  • Experience with CAD (NX, CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, CREO), PLM (Teamcenter, Enovia, Windchill, 3DExperience) and analysis tool (Ansys).

  • Experience working on innovative Digital Engineering and Manufacturing Integration to enable full digital thread.

  • Experience leading process and tool improvement projects to support model-based definition roadmap maturity.

  • Experience in implementing Standard Work processes to ensure consistent results across the enterprise.

  • Proficiency in decomposition of customer specifications and mechanical requirements into optimized designs.

  • Expertise in leading Engineering and Manufacturing Multi-Disciplinary collaborations.

  • Effectively manage MCAD data management environment through an administrative role.

  • Debug server logs.

  • Support configuration, customizations, and upgrades of mechanical hardware.

  • Work with SW developers to ensure scripts/code meet user requirements (enhancements/updates/etc.).

  • Create/update system test cases; conduct unit & integration testing to ensure the defined functionality meets requirements.

Qualifications YOU Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

  • Diligent Work Ethic.

  • Experience with mechanical/engineering design processes

  • Preferred: Work management within an Agile framework

  • Must also be willing and able to travel (domestic and international) (minimum 10% domestically)

  • Either possess, or be able to obtain, a security clearance.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
