What You'll Do
Workplace Benefits is seeking a skilled software engineer to support the modernization of our data platforms. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys applying domain-driven design principles, building scalable integrations, and contributing to a modern, evolving architecture. You'll work as part of the Domain Integrations team to deliver high-quality solutions that support decoupling initiatives and improve how systems communicate across the enterprise. This role offers the opportunity to work on meaningful technical challenges using modern technologies and engineering practices. Responsibilities:
Engineering & Delivery
  • Design, build, and maintain services and integrations within the Domain Integrations space
  • Contribute to decoupling initiatives using Domain Driven Design (DDD) principles
  • Collaborate with product and business partners to understand requirements and deliver solutions aligned to business needs
  • Support the evolution of modern engineering practices and architectural patterns

Technical Excellence & Innovation
  • Contribute to the evolution of our domain platform architecture
  • Implement solutions that are scalable, maintainable, and well-tested
  • Follow and promote software engineering best practices and quality standards
  • Build and support APIs, including GraphQL and API-first approaches

Who You Are
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree (preference in a computer science, technology, engineering or math-related field or equivalent experience) and 3+ years work experience or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience as an IT professional
  • Ability to obtain certification(s) in an IT related field is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of insurance and financial services products preferred
  • Excellent planning, organizational, problem-solving, analytical, decision-making and communication skills required
  • Proficiency with database applications, knowledge of mainframe, distributed and/or web programming language
  • Basic leadership and presentation skills required
  • Excellent time management skills preferred
  • Must be able to maintain a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality
  • Must have the desire to learn new technology and continuously grow

Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

  • Los Angeles/New York City: $112,000 - $134,000 / year

Time Off Program
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don't accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

Work Environment
This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, Raleigh, NC, or Charlotte, NC).
