Position Summary:

The Operations Manager is responsible for driving operational excellence across The Current and YourClassical. Working closely with the Executive Director, this role ensures creative teams have the processes, resources, tools, and operational discipline needed to successfully deliver strategic priorities.

This position leads content and project planning, resource management, workflow optimization, and cross-functional coordination to keep work on schedule, remove barriers, and improve organizational effectiveness. This role serves as an operational leader who influences teams, aligns priorities, and helps translate strategy into execution.

Expected Compensation Range: $70,000 - $85,000 per year. The exact salary rate is determined by experience and education related to the role, organizational compensation structure, and internal equity.

Location: Hybrid, St. Paul, MN

Position Responsibility:

  • Lead operational planning and execution to ensure teams deliver programming, content, and strategic initiatives on time and in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Oversee resource allocation, staff capacity planning, and work prioritization across daily operations and long-term projects.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve workflows, processes, and operating procedures that increase efficiency and collaboration.
  • Coordinate work across creative teams and internal partners, serving as the primary operational liaison for cross-functional initiatives.
  • Monitor project performance, budgets, timelines, and key performance indicators, identifying risks and recommending solutions.
  • Evaluate and implement operational tools, including project management, AI, and workflow technologies that improve team effectiveness.
  • Document processes, support training, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
  • Produce reports and presentations for compliance, progress tracking, and internal and external relationship building.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Skills and Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in operations, program management, project management, or production leadership within a creative, media, or content-driven organization.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex initiatives across multiple teams without direct supervisory authority.
  • Experience with project management platforms, CRM systems, media asset management systems, and AI-enabled productivity tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using data and KPIs to inform operational decisions and improve performance.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to anticipate challenges, resolve operational bottlenecks, and balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in a creative production environment with complex, multi-platform workflows (broadcast, digital, streaming).
  • Experience supporting or shaping organizational planning processes such as annual operating plans, portfolio prioritization, or cross-team resource strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to design reporting systems (dashboards, capacity models, or performance tracking) that improve transparency and decision-making.
  • Experience managing operational changes or transformation initiatives.
  • Strong facilitation and cross-functional alignment skills in environments without direct authority.
