How much do remote cyber security certificate jobs pay per year?

As of Jun 12, 2026, the average yearly pay for remote cyber security certificate in the United States is $132,962.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $111,000.00 and $150,000.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

Can you work from home with a cybersecurity certificate?

A cybersecurity certificate can qualify you for remote work opportunities in roles such as security analyst or cybersecurity specialist. Many employers offer remote positions that require skills in network security, threat detection, and security tools, making remote work common in the cybersecurity field.

Can I get a job with just a cyber security certificate?

A cybersecurity certificate can help you qualify for entry-level roles such as security analyst or technician, but many employers prefer candidates with additional experience, skills, or a degree. Certifications like CompTIA Security+ demonstrate foundational knowledge, but advancing in the field often requires hands-on experience and ongoing learning. Having a certificate is a good starting point, but it typically needs to be complemented by practical skills and possibly further certifications for more advanced positions.

What is the difference between Remote Cyber Security Certificate vs Remote Cyber Security Analyst?

AspectRemote Cyber Security CertificateRemote Cyber Security Analyst
Required CredentialsCertification programs, such as CompTIA Security+ or CISSPBachelor's degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, or related field; certifications like Security+ often preferred
Work EnvironmentOnline courses, self-paced learning, or training programsRemote or on-site security monitoring, incident response, and analysis
Employer & Industry UsageTraining providers, educational institutions, entry-level rolesOrganizations across finance, healthcare, tech, and government sectors

The Remote Cyber Security Certificate provides foundational knowledge through certification programs, ideal for beginners. In contrast, a Remote Cyber Security Analyst is a professional role requiring more experience and often a degree, focusing on analyzing security threats and responding to incidents. Both are integral in cybersecurity careers but serve different purposes in skill development and job responsibilities.

How can I make $2000 a week working from home?

A remote cybersecurity professional with a certification can potentially earn $2000 or more per week by taking on high-paying consulting projects, freelance security assessments, or specialized roles such as penetration testing or security architecture. Building a strong skill set, obtaining relevant certifications, and gaining experience with tools like SIEMs and firewalls can help increase earning potential in remote cybersecurity work.

Is a certificate in cyber security worth it?

A certificate in cyber security can enhance a candidate's qualifications for roles like remote cyber security analyst or specialist by demonstrating foundational knowledge of security principles, tools, and protocols. It can improve job prospects and earning potential, especially when combined with practical experience and skills in areas such as network security, threat detection, and risk management.

Job description

About the job:

Contribute to developing cutting-edge AI systems, while enjoying the flexibility of remote work and setting your own schedule.

We are looking for existing cybersecurity professionals to help advance AI development. Cybersecurity platforms are increasingly powered by AI โ€” but these systems still need practitioners with real-world experience to validate whether the outputs actually hold up in practice. That's where you come in.

You'll work closely with state-of-the-art AI models on tasks like evaluating AI-generated security content, solving technical security problems, and providing feedback that directly shapes how these systems reason about real-world threats and defenses.

To get started, once you sign up for an account, you'll take a short assessment (this serves as our version of an interview). If you pass, you'll receive an email confirmation, and paid work will become available to you through our platform.

Advantages of contracting with us:

  • Fully remote: work from anywhere in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.
  • Flexible schedule: choose which projects you take on and when you work.
  • You work on your own schedule, on your own computer, from the comfort of your own home
  • Projects are paid hourly starting at $50-100+/hr, with bonus rates available on some projects
  • Impact: help shape the future of AI technologies built for cybersecurity.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate AI-generated cybersecurity content โ€” including threat analysis, vulnerability assessments, and offensive security techniques โ€” for real-world accuracy and validity.
  • Design and solve security-focused technical problems used to train AI systems.
  • Write clear technical explanations and security-relevant code.
  • Provide feedback that directly shapes the next generation of AI security models.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in a cybersecurity role โ€” such as penetration testing, red teaming, incident response, detection engineering, DFIR, malware analysis, threat intelligence, or adjacent fields, including government or military cyber operations.
  • Some coding experience required; comfort navigating and patching a codebase is key.
  • Fluency in English (native or bilingual level) with strong writing skills.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Cybersecurity certifications are a plus (e.g., OSCP, CRTO, GREM, GCFA, CEH, and similar).

Note: Payment is made via PayPal. We will never ask for any money from you. This job is only available to those in the US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand. This is an independent contractor position.
