Job Description

As a valued contributor to our team, you will advise team members on processes and procedures for assessing the potential application of enterprise technology products or services and offer solutions that meet customer needs. Additionally, you will be responsible for planning, managing, or coordinating operational activities for the team with the help of executives and staff managers.


As a Sales Engineer Advisor for the Market Engagement Technology Team, you will work with considerable latitude and autonomy in driving forward Fannie Mae’s strategy and execution. In this role, you will serve as a key liaison between Single-Family Market Engagement (SFME) and other departments across Single-Family and Operations with the primary goals of expanding lender relationships and increasing adoption of Fannie Mae tools and programs.


You will provide value-added expertise to SFME’s internal partners by identifying opportunities, supporting customer engagement strategies, and promoting enhancements to Fannie Mae offerings. This position operates as a strategy role within the team, with close alignment and engagement with SFME leadership.

THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE
The Single Family Market Engagement Sales Engineer Advisor role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

  • Acts as the Technology Team liaison across all SFME Verticals, attending key meetings, sharing insights, and serving as the main point of contact for internal customer-related requests.

  • Provide subject matter expertise, best practices, and recommendations to the team.

  • Determine the customer business needs and processes across multiple projects, programs, or products, while identifying and resolving conflicting or complementary needs across customer groups. 

  • Advise team on promoting and selling Fannie Mae's products and services to make sure people across the country have access to affordable financing opportunities.

  • Apply extensive knowledge of industry principles, company products, and client needs to develop technical training on complex topics for clients. 

  • Communicate critical customer feedback about digital products and programs to product teams for future developments. 

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Minimum Required Experiences:

  • At least 6 years of related experience

  • Knowledge of the primary and/or secondary mortgage markets and loan lifecycle.

  • Possess strong analytical, problem solving and business process redesign skills.

  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communications skills.

  • Ability to present to all levels (including C-level executives).

  • Proven ability to develop strong relationships both within and outside the organization.

  • Ability to create and communicate metrics related to customer engagement success.

  • Must have a good understanding of Fannie Mae technologies and products (e.g. Day One Certainty, Desktop Underwriter, etc.)  

  • Ability to articulate customer feedback to Fannie Mae product teams in an effort to improve Fannie Mae’s product offerings.

  • Shows curiosity and adaptability in learning and responsibly applying new technologies, including artificial intelligence, to reimagine how we work.

Desired Experiences:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

  • Experience working with enterprise-level clients in the mortgage or fintech space.

  • Knowledge of Fannie Mae products, tools, and solutions (e.g., Desktop Underwriter®, Collateral Underwriter®, or Servicing Marketplace).
