Job description

Telehealth Psychiatrist

Hackensack Meridian Health 

Jersey Shore University Medical Center 

Neptune, New Jersey 

Hackensack Meridian Health is currently seeking a Network Telehealth Remote Psychiatrist to join our dynamic Behavioral Health team. In this unique role, you will enjoy a highly desirable 90% Clinical and 10% Administrative/Academic split. You will provide critical telepsychiatry services across our network while shaping the next generation of medical professionals as a faculty member of the Department of Psychiatry at Jersey Shore University Medical Center (JSUMC).

Clinical Responsibilities :

  • Direct Patient Care: Provide top-tier Emergency Department (ED), Consultation-Liaison (C/L), and inpatient Telepsychiatry services.
  • Rapid Response: Ensure timely psychiatric interventions by returning 90% of calls from the Emergency Room within fifteen (15) minutes.
  • Collaborative Care: Serve as the collaborating physician for Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs), executing collaboration agreements and providing ongoing support.
  • Network Coverage: Provide additional psychiatric services as directed by leadership to ensure seamless patient care and participate in the department's on-call schedule.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all consultation requirements as stipulated in the Medical Staff Bylaws.

Academic & Administrative Responsibilities :

  • Teach & Mentor: Supervise and educate psychiatric residents, fellows, and medical students utilizing remote applications (Zoom, Google Meet).
  • Faculty Engagement: Actively participate in administrative meetings as a faculty member in the Department of Psychiatry at JSUMC.
  • Quality Improvement: Play a vital role in our quality improvement programs by helping develop measurable performance criteria, reviewing outcomes, and implementing care improvement processes.
  • Leadership: Serve on vital committees and task forces as needed, working to foster the mission, vision, and values of HMH.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
  • Eligible for medical licensure in the required state(s).
  • Comfortable and proficient with telehealth platforms and remote communication tools.
  • A passion for teaching and a commitment to high-quality, fast-paced clinical care.

Budget and Grant Funding: Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered.
