What is remote creative writing?

Remote creative writing refers to the practice of producing original written content, such as stories, poems, or scripts, from a location outside of a traditional office—often from home or any place with internet access. Creative writers use their imagination and language skills to craft engaging narratives or expressive works, collaborating with clients or publishers online. This flexible work arrangement allows writers to manage their schedules and work with organizations or clients globally. Remote creative writing can include freelance projects, content creation, and contributions to books, magazines, or websites.

How do remote creative writers typically collaborate with editors and other team members while working from home?

Remote creative writers often use collaboration tools like Slack, Google Docs, or project management platforms to stay connected with editors and team members. Regular check-ins, virtual meetings, and shared documents help ensure clear communication regarding project goals, deadlines, and feedback. Writers may also participate in brainstorming sessions or peer reviews online, which fosters a sense of teamwork even when working independently. Adapting to different communication styles and being proactive in seeking feedback are key to thriving in a remote creative writing role.

About the Role
We're looking for a Partner Services Manager to help lead and grow a high-profile partnership with a major philanthropic organization. In this role, you'll serve as the connective tissue between partner stakeholders, internal creative teams, and publishing operations - helping shepherd a high-volume slate of written, video, social, newsletter, and live event initiatives from concept through launch.
What You'll Do:
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day lead across partner stakeholders and internal teams throughout the full campaign lifecycle; first line of contact for problem solving, navigating partner questions, or surfacing information
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across editorial, production, publishing, and partner teams while proactively navigating trade-offs, competing demands, and shifting priorities
  • Surface partner feedback and proactively recommend solutions, trade-offs, and stakeholder management approaches with diplomacy and a solutions-oriented mindset
  • Cultivate & build trusted partner relationships across wide array of stakeholders that drive long-term collaboration and trust
  • Translate high-level strategic goals into actionable production and publishing workflows
  • Create and manage dynamic project timelines, reprioritizing based on evolving project needs, stakeholder feedback, and fast-moving campaign priorities
  • Maintain and optimize centralized project documentation and knowledge-sharing systems, ensuring teams have clear visibility into deliverables and critical updates needed to execute effectively
  • Work within the client's project management systems to input updates, track progress, and ensure visibility across their internal teams
  • Coordinate publishing and launch workflows across partner, editorial, production, and social teams
  • Regular internal + external reporting on progress towards workstream revenue goals [current and planned]

Who You Are:
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in a project management and/or account management role
  • Strong understanding of video production, publishing, and digital content workflows
  • A self-starter who solves problems proactively; you thrive in ambiguity and naturally identify ways to bring structure to chaos
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills with a high degree of emotional intelligence
  • Skilled at influencing and aligning cross-functional teams without direct authority
  • Comfortable managing a high volume of simultaneous projects, shifting priorities, and creative formats in a fast-moving, highly collaborative environment
  • Able to quickly assess competing priorities and make thoughtful decisions in environments where timelines, information, and stakeholder needs evolve rapidly
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

What You'll Get:
  • Work from home flexibility: We've been remote first since inception.
  • Growth and mentorship: Join a supportive, collaborative team with opportunities to grow in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Competitive benefits: Enjoy comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability coverage, 401(k), and more!

Salary: $80,000 base salary, with additional quarterly performance-based compensation available.
