To thrive as a Remote Creative Writing Intern, strong writing skills, creativity, and a solid grasp of grammar and storytelling techniques are essential, often supported by coursework or a degree in English, communications, or a related field. Familiarity with word processing software, content management systems (CMS), and collaboration tools like Google Workspace is typically required. Interns may work with publishing houses, media outlets, marketing agencies, or nonprofit organizations, and they typically communicate with mentors and supervisors via email, video calls, or online collaboration tools. Creative Writing Evaluator

What if your love of reading and your instinct for great writing could directly shape the future of AI? We're looking for Creative Writing Evaluators to assess AI-generated stories, essays, poetry, and other creative text — helping cutting-edge AI systems learn what truly compelling writing looks and feels like.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role open to anyone with a strong literary sensibility and a sharp eye for quality. No publishing credits or formal writing credentials required — just a genuine passion for language and storytelling.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Read and evaluate AI-generated creative writing across a range of genres — including fiction, essays, poetry, and narrative nonfiction
  • Assess writing quality across dimensions such as style, tone, coherence, originality, and reader engagement
  • Identify weaknesses like clichés, unnatural phrasing, logical inconsistencies, or flat characterization
  • Provide clear, constructive written feedback that helps AI systems produce more authentic and compelling work
  • Complete task-based assignments independently on your own schedule

Who You Are

  • A genuine lover of reading and writing across genres and formats
  • Able to articulate why a piece of writing works — or doesn't — with clarity and specificity
  • Strong command of English language, style, and craft
  • Comfortable working through substantial volumes of text with consistent attention
  • Self-motivated and reliable when working independently
  • No published writing experience required

Nice to Have

  • Background in creative writing, English literature, journalism, or editing
  • Experience with writing workshops, critique groups, or editorial feedback
  • Familiarity with a wide range of literary styles and genres
  • Prior experience with AI tools or content evaluation platforms

Why Join Us

  • Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside leading research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based work
  • Put your literary instincts to use in a role that genuinely matters
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
