• Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to gain insight into clients’ mental health conditions, strengths, and goals, utilizing diagnostic tools and methodologies.
• Provide individualized counseling sessions that may include therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), or person-centered approaches tailored to various mental health concerns.
• Facilitate engaging couples and family therapy sessions aimed at resolving interpersonal conflicts and improving communication, creating a safe space for open dialogue.
• Collaborate with clients to formulate and implement customized treatment plans, establishing measurable goals and interventions to track progress effectively.
• Deliver immediate crisis intervention strategies and support for clients experiencing acute mental health crises, ensuring their safety and stabilization.
• Educate clients and their families about mental health challenges, teaching coping mechanisms and referring them to additional resources as needed.
• Maintain comprehensive and confidential client documentation, including assessment results, treatment interventions, progress notes, and compliance with the legal and ethical standards of practice.
• Uphold ethical guidelines and legal requirements in all aspects of counseling, reinforcing the importance of client confidentiality and informed consent.

The Counseling Center serves a broad patient demographic, including adults, adolescents, couples, and families experiencing a range of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. Our counselors are trained to address the unique needs of diverse populations, making cultural sensitivity and awareness integral components of our practice.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related clinical field from an accredited institution.
• Current state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) is mandatory.
• Demonstrated clinical experience in a counseling setting, showcasing proficiency in various therapeutic techniques.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage empathically with clients.
• A solid ethical foundation and professional demeanor consistent with best practices in counseling.
• Cultural competence and an appreciation for the diversity of client backgrounds and experiences.
• A commitment to ongoing education and professional development in the mental health field.

• At least 2 years of experience in clinical counseling, preferably within a community health or similar setting.
• Experience with telehealth platforms and remote counseling techniques is advantageous.
• Familiarity with specific therapeutic modalities such as EMDR, play therapy, or evidence-based practices relevant to trauma and family dynamics.
