Summary
About the position: This position will be assigned to the Little Rock AFB, AR - Rickenbacker's.
This position is flexible and is guaranteed 0 hours. But can be scheduled up to 40 hours per week.
Physical Effort: Continual standing, walking, frequent stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling and bending. Frequently lifts or moves objects weighting up to 40 pounds unassisted and occasionally lifts or moves objects weighting over 40 pounds with assistance.

Cooking Tasks:
  • Prepares and cooks simple items requiring little or no processing (e.g., pancakes, sausage, eggs, hamburgers, fresh or canned vegetables).
  • Cooks hot cereals and broiled meats.
  • Prepares and cooks concentrated or dehydrated soups, sauces, and gravies.
  • Makes cold sandwich fillings.
  • Prepares convenience foods like frozen hash browns, fish fillets, and chicken nuggets.
  • Some cooks at this level also prepare and bake pizza.

Food Preparation:
  • Peels, chops, grinds, pares, cuts, slices, dices, purees, dredges, flours, or breads ingredients.
  • Weighs, measures, and assembles ingredients for regular menu items.
  • Sets up and replenishes salad bar.
  • Portions food for distribution and meal service.
  • Covers, dates, and stores leftovers following established procedures.
  • Washes and cleans equipment.

Ability to follow oral and written instructions, work safely, and do simple arithmetic. Knowledge of operating and cleaning food service equipment, characteristics of various foods, and the ability to season food and decide when foods are done is required.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
