Summary: The Contract Manager is responsible for all contractual aspects of a project from the offer stage to the successful completion of the contract. This includes risk identification, assessment and mitigation as well as claim management.

In this role, the candidate must be able to work effectively and accurately across multiple topics at the same time, organizing and setting task priority while building and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities: 

    • Take ownership of all contractual requirements for assigned projects and acts as the Business Partner for Offer Project Managers during the offer phase and for Project Managers during the execution phase.
    • Review and analyze contracts with the objective of identifying risks, mitigation strategies, and project management requirements aligned with contractual clauses; Establish specific commercial risk mitigation plans for each project in accordance with Voith's risk management process and consult with project team members to ensure their implementation.
    • Align as necessary with corporate departments, such as legal, insurance, finance and tax to mitigate the financial and market risk exposure.
    • Develop and implement processes to administer, document, and accept/challenge/ defend incoming and outgoing change requests throughout the project execution phase.
    • Manage the contract change and claim process to ensure that all deviations from the contract are captured and processed in accordance with the contract terms.
    • Manages all required contractual securities (bonds, letters of credit, parent company guarantee, etc.) and insurance policies.
    • Insures positive cash flow during project execution.
    • Manage the commercial close-out and post-completion process for the project, including the warranty period and warranty claims.

Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in business administration, legal or related areas.
    • 5+ years of experience in contract and risk management.
    • Ability to deal with complex business scenarios and different contract structures.
    • Excellent analytical and cross-functional skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal skills.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
