Remote Contract Medical Device information

What is a remote contract medical device professional?

A Remote Contract Medical Device professional is an individual who works with medical device companies on a contract basis, often providing specialized services such as regulatory affairs, quality assurance, clinical research, or engineering support, all performed remotely. These professionals typically help organizations ensure that their medical devices meet regulatory standards, are safe for patients, and are effectively brought to market. Working remotely allows them to collaborate with clients globally without being physically present. Contract work means they are not permanent employees but are hired for specific projects or periods.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote contract medical device professional?

To thrive as a Remote Contract Medical Device Specialist, you need a comprehensive understanding of medical device regulations, product knowledge, and a relevant degree such as in biomedical engineering or life sciences. Familiarity with regulatory submission systems, quality management software, and certifications like ISO 13485 or RAC are often required. Excellent communication, self-motivation, and problem-solving skills help you manage projects independently and liaise with clients or regulatory bodies. These competencies are crucial to ensure compliance, maintain product quality, and effectively support clients in a remote work environment.

How do remote contract medical device professionals typically collaborate with on-site teams and ensure compliance with regulatory standards?

Remote contract medical device professionals frequently use digital communication tools to collaborate closely with on-site engineering, quality assurance, and regulatory teams. Regular video meetings, shared project management platforms, and clear documentation protocols help ensure that all parties stay aligned on project goals and compliance requirements. Remote professionals must be proactive in staying updated on evolving regulations and participate in virtual audits or reviews as needed. Building strong relationships with on-site contacts and maintaining prompt communication are key to overcoming challenges associated with remote work in this highly regulated industry.

Job description

Growth Account Executive (Sales290)

AcuityMD is a software and data platform that accelerates access to medical technologies. Each year, the FDA approves ~6,000 new medical devices. Our platform helps MedTech companies get these products to physicians more effectively so they can improve patient care with the latest technology. We're backed by Benchmark, Redpoint, and Ajax Health and we help MedTech companies identify how their products are used, understand why outcomes vary, and identify opportunities where physicians can better serve their patients.

Team Mission

We are building a best-in-class Commercial Team and establishing a repeatable go-to-market motion. We are hiring a team of high caliber Enterprise SaaS sales, marketing, and customer success professionals to thoughtfully engage VPs, General Managers, and other corporate decision makers across the Medical Device Industry. Our Commercial Team takes a proactive, consultative, and high-touch approach when working with customers, investing heavily in pre-sales through onboarding and training to ensure customers are on the road to success from Day 1.

We strongly encourage people of all backgrounds to apply.

Responsibilities
  • Developing new sales opportunities using outbound cold emails, cold calls and lead follow-ups
  • Communicating with customers to understand their needs and requirements and identify sales opportunities
  • Answering customers' questions, resolving their concerns and providing additional information via calls and emails
  • Explaining and demonstrating the functions and features of products and services
  • Maintaining and improving the database of prospects
  • Researching for new leads
  • Keeping up to date with product and service information and competitor offers
  • Upselling products and services
Your Profile
  • 2-5 years of closing experience in a high-velocity SaaS sales role, ideally selling into a vertical market
  • Proven ability to multi-thread across stakeholders and navigate complex buying processes
  • Experience selling consumption-based or usage-based pricing models
  • Comfortable engaging and building relationships with C-suite executives
  • Strong verbal communication and active listening skills, with the ability to run a consultative sales motion
  • Highly organized with strong time management skills and the ability to manage a high-volume pipeline across multiple accounts and deal stages
  • Financially literate, with the ability to accurately build and present business cases, pricing proposals, and ROI analyses
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry conferences
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while also contributing as a collaborative team member
Nice to Haves
  • Experience selling into MedTech, Healthcare, or Life Sciences
  • Background in IT or technical sales environments

AcuityMD is committed to providing highly competitive cash compensation, equity, and benefits. The compensation offered for this role will be based on multiple factors such as location, the role's scope and complexity, and the candidate's experience and expertise, market data and may vary from the range provided. OTE salary range: $150,000 to $200,000

You must have an eligible work permit in the USA to be considered for this position

We Offer:
  • Remote work: AcuityMD is committed to supporting full-remote flexibility for employees in the US. We provide a work-from-home stipend for all employees.
  • Unlimited vacation: Generous time off and flexible hours give you the freedom to do your best work.
  • Paid Health and Dental Plans:ย We offer 100% paid health and dental plans for all employees and 75% paid for our employees' dependents.
  • Home Office Stipend:ย $1000 to invest in remote office equipment and WiFi reimbursement.
  • Learning Budget:ย Reimbursements for relevant learning and up-skilling opportunities.
  • Optional Team Retreats:ย We meet in-person multiple times per year for co-working and social gatherings.
  • Parental Leave:ย 6-12 weeks of fully-paid, flexible parental leave.
  • Ground floor opportunity: Join a high growth startup, backed by world class investors across Enterprise SaaS and Medical Devices (Benchmark, Redpoint Ventures, and Ajax Health).
  • Competitive compensation with equity upside.
Who We Are:

The Company: We are builders, who are inspired by our mission to expand patient access to cutting-edge medical technologies. We value working collaboratively to solve hard problems for our customers with simple, innovative solutions. We push ourselves to learn with empathy. We foster an active culture of mentorship and inclusion, and we welcome new team members that share our values.

We're backed by Benchmark, Redpoint Ventures, Ajax Health, and several other leading software and medical device investors. Since Acuity launched in 2020, we've brought on customers ranging from publicly traded Fortune 500 companies to innovative growth-stage companies and regional medical device distributors.

The Product: AcuityMD uses data and software to help teams collaborate around the complex relationships they have with the users of medical technologies: doctors. Our platform empowers medical technology companies to see how their products are used, understand why outcomes vary, and identify opportunities where physicians or sites of care can better serve their patients.

How We Work:

AcuityMD is a remote-first company. We believe the best talent isn't confined to one zip code, so our team works from wherever they do their best work, across the U.S.

We also believe some of our best work happens face-to-face. Critical projects move faster, our products get better, and our community gets stronger when we're in the same room, so we bring the team together throughout the year for company-wide and team on-sites built around that work.

In practice: expect 4-5 in-person opportunities a year through company/team on-sites and in-person collaboration for critical projects. If you're based near our Boston hub, there's no set requirement for how often you come into the office, that's your call, based on what works best for you and your team.

AcuityMD is an Equal Opportunity Employer

AcuityMD is seeking to create a diverse work environment because all teams are stronger with different perspectives and life experiences. We strongly encourage people of all backgrounds to apply. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, religion, color, national origin, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. All employees and contractors of AcuityMD are responsible for maintaining a work culture free from discrimination and harassment by treating others with kindness and respect.
