First Connect Insurance

Job description

About First Connect:

First Connect Insurance Services is a digital platform providing independent insurance agents with access to top US carriers and the options necessary to grow their businesses. Agents can work with over 150 carriers, selling various insurance policies, including home, auto, small business, and more. We're on a mission to overhaul the technology agents have access to, putting consumer-grade software at their fingertips. We have partnerships with thousands of active agents with hundreds joining monthly and we plan to accelerate our growth.

The Role:

Independent agents already talk to each other every day: at conferences, in Slack groups, at local Big I chapter meetings, on LinkedIn, and Reddit. Most of that conversation happens without us in the room. We're hiring our first Community Manager to change that.

You'll own First Connect's community strategy end to end. That means building and launching our online community for agents on the platform, shaping the strategy and content behind our events, deepening our presence in local independent insurance communities, and using our existing trade show calendar to do more than hand out swag. You'll partner closely with the Events team on logistics and execution, while owning the strategy, content, and community engagement.

This is a hands-on role for someone who has built community programs before and wants to build the next one inside a company that takes insurance distribution seriously. You'll work cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, Sales, and Carrier teams, with visibility at the leadership level from day one.

What You'll Do:

  • Build and run First Connect's online community for independent agents. Choose the platform, set the operating model, recruit the founding members, and grow it into a place agents check daily.
  • Design and launch an agent ambassador program that recognizes our most engaged agents and turns them into visible leaders and peer-to-peer mentors inside the community.
  • Build First Connect's presence in existing independent insurance communities, including Big I, PIA, and American Agents Alliance state and national chapters, agency owner meetups, regional networking groups, and active LinkedIn and Facebook groups.
  • Turn our existing trade show calendar (for example: FAIA Annual Convention & Education Symposium, American Agents Alliance Conference & Expo, PIA NJ/NY Annual Conference, and other state and regional events) into a community engagement engine, not just a booth-and-badge motion.
  • Own the strategy and content behind First Connect's owned events: customer summits, roadshows, dinners, webinars, and on-site programming at trade shows. Partner with the Events team on logistics and execution.
  • Stand up community-led content programs: peer webinars, AMAs with carriers and First Connect leadership, agent spotlights, podcast collaborations.
  • Partner with Product on beta and early-access programs fed by community membership.
  • Define and report on community health metrics: active members, engagement, contribution to pipeline, retention, and NPS. Bring monthly insights to the leadership team.
  • Be a public face of First Connect to our agent community. Travel to events, host conversations, write in your own voice, and make agents feel known.

What You'll Bring:

  • 7+ years of professional experience, with at least 5 years building and running a community management function. You've owned a community from strategy to execution, not just moderated one.
  • A track record of launching and scaling a B2B online community, member network, or professional community at a comparable company (insurtech, fintech, B2B SaaS, professional association, network, MGA, or aggregator).
  • Direct experience designing and running an ambassador, MVP, customer advisory, or similar recognition program.
  • Experience producing event content (panels, breakouts, fireside chats, summits, dinners).
  • A strong written voice. You can write like a real human, and you can ghost-write for executives when needed.
  • Fluency with modern community technology (for example: Slack, Circle, CommonRoom, Higher Logic, etc.) and the proven ability to work with product and technology teams on platform integrations.
  • A data-driven approach to community health and ROI. You're comfortable presenting community metrics to a leadership audience.
  • Willingness to travel to industry events, agent gatherings, and team offsites (roughly 20–30% of the year).

Benefits & Perks:

First Connect treats its team members with the same level of dedication and care as we do our customers, which is why we're fortunate to provide our team with:

  • 100% Remote Role — Work from anywhere within the United States
  • Multiple medical plans to choose from and 100% employer-covered dental; vision plans for our team members and their families
  • A 401(k) retirement plan, short- and long-term disability, employer-paid life insurance
  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) for health and dependent care, and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Work-From-Home Stipend – Employer-provided WFH equipment and an $85 monthly expense stipend to ensure you're set up for success
  • Equity — This position is eligible for equity compensation
  • Training and Career Growth — Training and internal career growth opportunities
  • Flexible Time Off — You know when and how you should recharge

The base pay range for the role is $130,000 – $140,000. Exact compensation may vary based on several job-related factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, experience, education/training, location, business needs, and market demands.

First Connect is an equal-opportunity employer, and we are committed to building a team culture that celebrates diversity and inclusion.

Applicants are considered solely based on their qualifications, without regard to an applicant's disability or need for accommodation. Any First Connect applicant who requires reasonable accommodations during the application process should contact the First Connect People Team to make the need for an accommodation known.
