Travel-Based Hospitality Finance Leadership Role
Are you a hospitality finance professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys solving operational challenges, and loves making an immediate impact? We are seeking a dynamic and adaptableField Controller to support hotel properties across our portfolio during transitions, special projects, training initiatives, and leadership coverage assignments.
This is far from a traditional accounting role. As a Field Controller, you will step into hotels as a trusted financial leader-driving process improvements, mentoring teams, strengthening controls, and helping properties operate at their highest potential. The Field Controller reports directly to the Regional Director of Finance. 100% travel role.
What You'll Do
Lead Hotel Finance Operations
  • Serve as the acting Director of Finance/Controller for assigned hotels as needed.
  • Evaluate accounting operations, identify inefficiencies, and implement stronger processes and controls.
  • Ensure financial activities are accurate, compliant, and aligned with company standards.
Drive Accuracy & Financial Performance
  • Oversee daily income audit processes, system interfaces, tax accuracy, and financial reporting integrity.
  • Ensure Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions are operating efficiently and effectively.
  • Monitor critical payments including taxes, insurance, and vendor obligations to ensure timely processing.
  • Lead month-end close processes and assist in preparing financial statements, ownership reports, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Complete and review balance sheet reconciliations with strong attention to detail and compliance standards.
Coach, Train & Support Teams
  • Provide hands-on leadership, training, and mentorship to hotel accounting teams.
  • Support onboarding and development of team members with varying levels of experience.
  • Partner closely with General Managers and hotel leadership teams to improve operational and financial performance.
Support Transitions & Special Projects
  • Assist with hotel openings, transitions, operational improvement initiatives, and audit preparation.
  • Serve as a key resource during periods of change, helping properties maintain stability and financial excellence.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of accounting or finance experience, ideally within hospitality.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Accounts Payable & Receivable
    • Income Audit & Payroll
    • Financial statement preparation
    • Forecasting & budgeting
    • Balance sheet reconciliations
    • Hotel accounting systems & internal controls
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and USALI standards.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to train, mentor, and support accounting teams.
  • Comfortable working independently, adapting quickly, and managing multiple priorities.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel extensively on a regular basis.
