Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Tester based in Netherlands.

This is a remote, paid testing opportunity supporting the development of high-quality aircraft, scenery, and gaming products.
You will play an important role in identifying issues before release and helping ensure products meet strong standards for functionality and user experience.
Working closely with developers and fellow testers, you will assess builds across Microsoft Flight Simulator and related platforms.
Your work will span functional testing, visual quality, performance, usability, regression testing, and exploratory testing.
You will investigate unexpected behavior, reproduce issues, and provide clear evidence that enables development teams to resolve problems efficiently.
The role suits someone highly detail-oriented, methodical, proactive, and passionate about flight simulation or gaming.
You will also gain hands-on experience with upcoming products while collaborating with a global team across different time zones.

Accountabilities
  • Test Execution: Test development builds across aircraft, scenery, and related products by following assigned test plans while independently exploring potential issues and unexpected behavior.
  • Bug Identification & Reporting: Identify, reproduce, document, and report defects with clear descriptions, reproduction steps, screenshots, videos, and other relevant evidence.
  • Fix Verification: Verify resolved issues and perform regression testing to ensure fixes work as expected and do not introduce new problems elsewhere.
  • Quality Assessment: Evaluate product functionality, visual quality, performance, usability, and overall user experience across a variety of scenarios and configurations.
  • Technical Investigation: Isolate issues systematically and provide developers with the information needed to investigate and resolve reported problems.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate findings clearly with developers and other testers, provide constructive feedback, and contribute to collaborative problem-solving.
  • Task Management: Organize assigned testing activities efficiently, manage changing workloads, and meet testing deadlines throughout development and release cycles.
  • Testing Standards: Follow established testing workflows, reporting standards, confidentiality requirements, and quality-assurance procedures.
  • Evidence Collection: Use appropriate screenshot and screen-recording tools to provide accurate visual evidence supporting reported issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: Take a proactive approach to investigating unusual behavior and contribute to improving the overall quality and reliability of products.
Requirements
  • Flight Simulation Knowledge: Strong familiarity with Microsoft Flight Simulator and hands-on experience using aircraft and scenery add-ons.
  • Testing Approach: Excellent attention to detail and a structured, methodical approach to evaluating software and identifying defects.
  • Bug Reporting: Ability to describe technical issues clearly and accurately in written English, including precise reproduction steps and relevant supporting evidence.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and the ability to isolate issues, identify patterns, and reproduce problems consistently.
  • Independence & Collaboration: Comfortable working independently while also collaborating effectively with developers and testers in a fast-paced environment.
  • Time Management: Ability to work accurately and efficiently while managing varying workloads, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to testing schedules and collaborate with colleagues working across different time zones.
  • Technical Setup: Access to a PC capable of running the relevant simulator and products reliably for testing purposes.
  • Testing Experience: Previous experience in software testing, quality assurance, structured beta testing, or a similar environment is preferred.
  • Testing Tools: Familiarity with bug-tracking systems, collaboration platforms, and writing detailed technical issue reports is an advantage.
  • Domain Interest: Genuine interest in aviation, flight simulation, gaming, aircraft systems, or airport scenery.
  • Product Testing: Experience testing different simulator products, particularly aircraft systems and airport scenery, is beneficial.
  • Mindset: Proactive, curious, and comfortable investigating unexpected behavior rather than simply following predefined test cases.
  • Communication: Confident providing constructive feedback and discussing technical findings with development and testing teams.
  • Software: Strong familiarity with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is required; familiarity with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 is beneficial.
  • Education: No specific degree is required; practical testing ability, simulator knowledge, attention to detail, and relevant experience are the key considerations.
Benefits
  • Paid Opportunity: Paid contractor role with the opportunity to contribute directly to product quality.
  • Remote Work: Fully remote working arrangement.
  • Product Exposure: Hands-on involvement with upcoming aircraft, scenery, and product updates throughout development.
  • Professional Development: Opportunity to strengthen software-testing, quality-assurance, troubleshooting, and bug-reporting skills.
  • Industry Knowledge: Gain deeper experience with flight simulation products, aircraft systems, scenery, and simulator platforms.
  • Collaborative Environment: Work closely with developers and fellow testers within a supportive, technically focused team.
  • Global Collaboration: Opportunity to work with an international team across different time zones.
  • Flexible Testing Environment: Exposure to varied testing schedules and workloads throughout development and release periods.
