Job description

Senior Product AnalystAll About Aeries

Aeries is a leading EdTech company with a data-driven Student Information System (SIS) used by over 750 K-12 school districts with millions of users throughout California and Texas. With a rich history of innovation and a proven track record of developing software focused on the whole student, Aeries ensures that student data empowers success and never impedes.

At Aeries, our mission is to deliver data-driven, intuitive, and innovative solutions that unite learning communities to advance student success. We believe strongly in the supporting role of technology in education but recognize that there’s no replacement for the wisdom and determination of the real people supporting students’ academic successes every day. That’s why our goal is to build tools that allow educators to focus on what they do best: educating.

About the Job

As a Senior Product Analyst, you independently own the compliance and maintenance work for multiple areas of the Aeries SIS, primarily focused on Texas. You interpret regulatory change, author the requirements, acceptance criteria, and test cases for your areas, write and execute those tests, and are the trusted point of contact – for customers, vendors, and agencies alike – in every area you own. You make sound decisions with minimal direction, escalating only what’s genuinely ambiguous.

Beyond your own areas, you actively champion the use of AI tools across the team – helping others work faster and better, not just doing so yourself.

What You’ll Do
  • Independently own the compliance requirements for your assigned areas – interpreting regulatory and reporting changes and translating them into clear, prioritized requirements
  • Author the requirements, acceptance criteria, and test cases for your work items, and write and execute those test cases
  • Own the vendor and agency relationships for your areas, representing Aeries directly with state/federal agencies and compliance partners
  • Own the customer relationships in your areas – anticipating needs, communicating changes, and resolving escalations end to end
  • Prioritize work across your areas and make independent trade-off decisions, escalating only cross-area conflicts
  • Champion the use of AI tools across the team to accelerate research, requirements, and testing
  • Partner directly with engineering to shape high-quality fixes, reports, and compliance features
  • Mentor Jr. Product Analysts informally – sharing domain knowledge and reviewing their work
What You Bring
  • In-depth knowledge of federal (CRDC) and TX/CA state reporting (TSDS, PEIMS, TREX, SAAH, CALPADS), preferably Texas state reporting
  • 5+ years working with SaaS applications, preferably a student information system
  • Proven ability to own compliance areas and agency/vendor/customer relationships independently
  • Proficient SQL and query skills; comfortable analyzing data to support decisions
  • Skilled at writing user stories (Gherkin), defining acceptance criteria, and writing and executing test cases, preferred
  • Strong requirements-analysis, documentation, and user acceptance testing (UAT) skills
  • Active user and advocate of AI tools within the team
  • Sound judgment and the ability to work independently and adapt to change
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, data, computer science, economics, or a related field preferred
  • School and SIS experience a plus, with Aeries experience preferred
  • Ed-Fi knowledge (preferred)
  • Experience with SQL Query and/or Postman (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Agile
