We are looking for an individual passionate about Health and Safety to hold the position of Quality Health Safety and Environnement Coordinator. This entry-level job is a unique opportunity to grow within a team open to change and initiative in a career field well in demand.

The Day-to-Day

  • Conduct field inspections and audits for safety and compliance risks and recommend corrective actions;
  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance programs, including permits, plans and records as required by country, state(s), & various Local Regulatory Agencies;
  • Stay up to date on current clients and local regulations, including OSHA Regulations, Clean Water Act, Safe Water Drinking Act and other applicable laws;
  • Provide advice relating to compliance with client requirements, local regulations, and company policy;
  • Strong leadership and effective mentorship, coaching to the front-line staff;
  • Develop hazard assessments, trenching and excavation permits, flagging permits, fall protection plans, confined space entry plans, rescue plans, JSAs, etc;
  • Incident investigations;
  • Follow-up on and track corrective actions stemming from incident investigations, audits, inspections, and safety/compliance concern reporting;
  • Support Workers Compensation claims management and return to work;
  • Compile statistical data and reports as required;
  • Hold safety/compliance meeting;
  • Provide support for internal and external stakeholders during regulatory inspections;
  • Manage/Lead local training and special HSE/compliance Projects;
  • Build towards ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 compliance;
  • Support liability claims, including investigation, documentation, and communication with the public;
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by upper management.

The Skills We Are Looking for

  • Certifications in Safety, Water/Wastewater certification (ASP, CSP, CHST, OHST, CIH,CWP, CWO, CES, etc.);
  • Knowledge of HSE Management or Water/Wastewater Compliance Management;
  • Knowledge of OSHA Regulations, Safe Water Drinking Act, Clean Water Act, NPDES permits and EPA standards;
  • High school diploma or GED;
  • Valid driver’s license;
  • Proficient with computers (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, HSE Management platforms, Learning Management Systems (LMS), Compliance Tracking Tools, etc.);
  • Strong Entrepreneurial mindset;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and determination of root cause and corrective actions;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with the public, regulators, team members, and supervisors;
  • Knowledge with water or wastewater treatment, public works, electrical safety, pesticide application, process safety (compressed gases), traffic control, trenching, heavy equipment is an asset;
