We are currently looking for a Senior Computer Systems Engineer to join our team in Holland, MI.

Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator to serve as a technical expert in IT infrastructure, owning and optimizing critical database systems that ensure data accuracy, availability, and security. This role leads complex initiatives, including system maintenance, performance tuning, and large scale upgrades, while troubleshooting high impact issues and supporting business critical applications with high availability. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and critical thinker who can translate complex technical concepts, collaborate across teams, and make sound decisions in fast-paced environments. This individual will also mentor junior team members and has the potential to grow into a lead level role within the organization.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain complex IT systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability.
  • Collaborate with leaders from other departments to ensure seamless integration and support.
  • Design and implement IT solutions to meet business requirements and enhance efficiency.
  • Lead and manage IT projects, overseeing all aspects from planning to implementation.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, providing guidance and support to other IT team members.
  • Conduct system audits to assess compliance with security and data privacy regulations.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in IT.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job functions with/without accommodation.
  • Uses office automation, communication, software, and tools used in Haworth office environment.
  • Performs other duties within scope as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Education Equivalency: Associate's Degree plus 2 years related experience OR 4 years related experience if no post-secondary education
  • Work Experience: 5 years IT or computer technology experience with Bachelor’s Degree OR 3 years IT or computer technology experience with Master’s Degree
  • Minimum 2 years of hands on database administration experience
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Ability to participate in an on call rotation; ability to support off hours when needed
  • Applicants must be able to work in Holland, MI; this position does not offer remote or hybrid work and does not include relocation assistance.
  • Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for this position.
