Position Overview?
ย 
Element is seeking a motivated Cybersecurity Intern to support our organization's implementation of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF). This 12-week internship provides hands-on experience in cybersecurity policy development, gap analysis, and control implementation. You will gain experience developing, improving and implementing security policies and procedures.ย 
Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze current security systems and practices against NIST CSF requirements.

  • Develop gap analysis documentation

  • Prioritize updates to security policies and procedures to align with NIST CSF.

  • Assist with the implementation of security controlsย  using Mosyle, Microsoft Intune, AWS and GCP based on framework requirements.

  • Assist in developing monitoring and alerting in Datadog

  • Develop automation for implemented security controls.

  • Create compliance tracking documentation.

  • Prepare executive summary reports on improvements and future roadmap.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently pursuing degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

  • A minimum of 2.5 GPA.

  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work 10-20 hours a week.

  • Ability to pass a background check.ย 

  • US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required.

  • Must reside in the Continental US, preferably within the state of Maryland.

The likely salary range for this position is $18.00-$20.00.ย  The salary offered will depend on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, education, geographic location, internal equity, business needs, and other factors permitted by law.
