Job description

Mythic is looking for an experienced CAD/EDA engineer to build a truly robust design environment and support multiple disciplines of IC designers. Mythic takes EDA methodology and tooling seriously, and is poised for rapid growth. You will be a critical part of making sure our foundation is strong and capable of enhancing our pace of development. 

What you'll do
  • Support IC design and IT leadership with multiple tool and infrastructure upgrades

  • Manage several repositories of PDKs, IPs, and multiple tools from multiple vendors

  • Advise design IT leadership with methodology enhancements and future planning

  • Keep up with advancements in industry tools that are relevant to our goals

  • Where necessary or advantageous, develop custom tools/scripts/plug-ins that are easily adopted by users

What you'll bring
  • Deep understanding of the Cadence tool flow is required

    • Analog / Mixed-signal design tools (Virtuoso, AMS, Spectre)

    • Layout/signoff (PVS/Pegasus, Calibre)

    • Synthesis/APR/Physical design (Genus, Innovus / DDI)

  • Revision control experience and methodology recommendations (perforce/versIC) 

    • Internal and external IP management

  • Supporting multiple PDKs simultaneously

    • Familiarity with TSMC and GF preferred

  • Scripting & automation: Python, Perl, Tcl, Bash/Shell, SKILL; automating EDA flows, tool setup, regression runs, log parsing, environment configuration, and design-data processing.

  • License management: FlexNet/FlexLM administration and troubleshooting, including license-server configuration, lmstat/lmutil diagnostics, feature availability, checkout failures, queueing, utilization monitoring, and vendor-daemon issues.

  • EDA infrastructure support: Linux/Unix environment troubleshooting, LSF/Slurm/Grid Engine compute-farm integration, environment modules, tool-version management, and debugging interactions between EDA applications, compute infrastructure, and license servers.

  • CAD flow development: Development and support of scripted flows integrating tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Spectre, Xcelium, Synopsys, or Siemens EDA with internal automation, regression, and verification infrastructure.

  • Demonstrated history of solving problems for EDA users

  • Nice-to-haves:

    • Remote computing support experience (ETX) 

    • Experience supporting engineering across multiple international locations

    • Some degree of sysadmin ability

    • Build systems: Make/GNU Make, CMake, custom Makefile-based flows; maintaining build dependencies, environment setup, and reproducible EDA/CAD workflows.

    • CI/CD & regression infrastructure: Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions; developing and supporting automated regression, validation, build, and deployment pipelines for EDA tools and design flows.
