Unix Administrator- U.S. Remote ( AIX, Infoscale) 
We're looking for a versatile, experienced UNIX Administrator to join our team in 2026 and support our client. This is a full-time role with Railroad19.  You will provide expert UNIX administration services to support, maintain, and enhance the reliability, security, and performance environment.  You will ensure compliance with regulatory standards, support mission-critical operations, advise stakeholders on best practices, drive innovation, and deliver high-quality technical outcomes. This is a full-time, remote position with the opportunity to make a significant impact at scale.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders and provide expertise as well as support to meet a wide variety of requirements
  • Quickly provide support to administer large, multi-site UNIX, AIX, Linux, and VMware server environments. Installation, upgrade, and patching of UNIX, Linux, and VMware operating systems and server software.
  • Performance tuning and resource optimization reports.
  • Capacity planning and lifecycle management documentation.
  • Security hardening and compliance documentation (including SOC1, NERC CIP, CIS benchmarks).
  • Technical support logs and incident response records.
  • Detailed system configuration and function documentation.
  • Audit support data and compliance attestations.
  • Procurement and license management reports.
  • Automation scripts and documentation for improved operational efficiency.
Requirements:
  • Proven expert experience in UNIX administration services to support, maintain, and enhance reliability, security, and performance
  • Hands on experience in AIX and Veritas Infoscale
  • Hands-on experience working with Red Hat & Linux, VMware
  • Experience working in a regulated environment and ability to be flexible while adhering to proven processes in compliance and regulatory standards
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Effective communicator and collaborator
  • Focused on consistently delivering sustainable customer value in a highly regulated environment
  • Previous experience working with Veritas InfoScale is required
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other technical discipline; or equivalent work experience
$120,000 - $150,000 a year
