Founded in 1984, International SOS operates in more than 90 countries, delivering healthcare, medical assistance, emergency response, and workforce support services worldwide.
Job Description
You'll use your pharmacy technician expertise to support Veterans by assisting with prescription requests, medication-related inquiries, and pharmacy support services from a remote role. Working as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team, you'll help patients navigate pharmacy services, process prescription requests, document interactions accurately, and collaborate with pharmacists to resolve pharmacy-related issues for Veterans.
Employment Type: Full-Time / Remote
Remote Work Requirement: Must reside within 50 miles of one of the following locations: Tucson, AZ; Albuquerque, NM; Prescott, AZ; Phoenix, AZ; Long Beach, CA; Los Angeles, CA; San Diego, CA; or Loma Linda, CA.
Schedule: Pharmacy services operate 24/7. Assigned shifts may occur between 6:00 AM and 11:00 PM Pacific Time and may include weekends and holidays based on operational needs.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support Veterans by answering pharmacy-related telephone inquiries, assisting with prescription requests, and delivering professional customer service.
  • Process prescription renewals, new prescriptions, and controlled substance requests using established pharmacy procedures.
  • Review prescription profiles, respond to medication-related inquiries within the pharmacy technician scope of practice, and refer clinical questions to pharmacists as appropriate.
  • Document patient interactions in CPRS and other required systems while verifying patient identity and maintaining HIPAA and privacy compliance.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists, providers, and healthcare teams to help resolve medication-related issues for Veterans.
  • Follow established pharmacy support workflows, call handling procedures, and quality standards while working toward first-contact resolution.
  • Maintain required pharmacy technician certification and training while performing additional duties within the technician scope of practice.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or ExCPT certification through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA).
  • Graduate of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of customer service-related experience.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English proficiently.
  • Strong computer proficiency, keyboarding skills, and ability to navigate multiple software applications simultaneously.
  • Working knowledge of pharmacy operations, prescription processing, and medication terminology.
  • Strong verbal communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and applicable privacy requirements.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a call center, contact center, or centralized pharmacy environment supporting pharmacy services.
  • Experience using electronic health records such as CPRS or similar healthcare documentation systems.
  • Experience supporting Veterans, military beneficiaries, or other government healthcare populations.
