Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual in-home treatment sessions or group therapy sessions in an outpatient clinic setting, utilizing evidence-based practices tailored to each childโ€™s specific needs.
  • Employ therapeutic techniques to reduce high-risk behaviors, including self-injury and aggression, by teaching children effective anger management, coping skills, and social interactions.
  • Enhance the decision-making skills of both children and caregivers to address behavioral concerns within the home environment.
  • Collaborate with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals, maintaining open communication to ensure a coordinated approach to therapy.
  • Complete and submit essential documentation, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, in compliance with all regulatory timelines.
  • Participate in regular team meetings, offering insights and recommendations while staying attuned to client needs and therapy effectiveness.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our focus is on providing intensive, in-community therapy to children aged 3-20 who face developmental and intellectual challenges. As a therapist at Three Rivers, you will work closely with families, often navigating complex dynamics to deliver tailored support that addresses every clientโ€™s unique situation. Your efforts will directly contribute to enhancing their quality of life, improving familial relationships, and facilitating healthy development.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related field is required.
  • An active and unrestricted LMFT license is mandatory for this role.
  • Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4 PM - 7 PM), with potential weekend flexibility.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience providing positive behavior support is preferred.
  • Prior work with children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) is highly desirable.
  • Applicants must have a valid driverโ€™s license and access to a registered vehicle for client visits.
  • A successful background check, including fingerprinting, is mandatory prior to hiring.
