The Rockwell Wellness Clinic is seeking a dedicated and passionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our expanding team in Reno, Nevada. This full-time, remote opportunity offers a chance to provide transformative therapeutic services to children and families dealing with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality individual or group therapy sessions, either in-home or through our outpatient center, ensuring tailored interventions for each client.
  • Facilitate anger management, coping strategies, and social skills training while addressing and reducing high-risk behaviors such as self-injury and physical aggression.
  • Engage in the vital task of enhancing decision-making skills for both youth and their caretakers, particularly in navigating in-home behavioral challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, maintaining excellent communication with other clinicians and professionals to support clients holistically.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, to ensure compliance with clinic policies and enhance treatment effectiveness.
  • Participate in monthly meetings, sharing insights, best practices, and recommendations to improve overall service delivery.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with children and teens aged 3-20 who have developmental and intellectual disabilities, as well as supporting their families. This diverse client base requires therapists to apply a strengths-based approach while developing customized strategies that promote growth and healing. Your interventions will play a significant role in improving the quality of life for both these children and their caregivers, equipping them with essential tools to manage daily challenges.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a closely related field is required.
  • An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours, specifically from 4-7 pm, with additional weekend flexibility preferred.
  • Strong foundational knowledge in positive behavior support practices is essential.
  • A valid driverโ€™s license and a registered vehicle are necessary for travel to client locations.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is mandatory.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience working directly with children and adolescents, especially those with intellectual and developmental disabilities, is highly desirable.
  • Fluent bilingual skills in Spanish or Portuguese will be considered a significant asset in providing effective therapy to our diverse client population.
  • A history of developing and implementing effective therapeutic interventions in various settings will strengthen your candidacy.
Compensation and Benefits
