Job description

Position Overview

Global Life Mental Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and flexible Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our dynamic team. This full-time, remote position is a unique opportunity for professionals who wish to make a tangible difference in the lives of children and families in Baltimore, Maryland. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing high-quality therapeutic services and improving family dynamics for those facing developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges.

About the Organization

Global Life Mental Healthcare is a respected organization committed to delivering comprehensive mental health services. We specialize in supporting youth and families, particularly caregivers of children with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Our focus is on fostering resilience and enhancing the well-being of both children and their families through tailored therapeutic interventions.

Work Environment

This position operates in a remote setting while also working within a community health clinic framework. Being part of a supportive team that prioritizes collaboration, you will engage virtually with your clients, making it possible to reach families across Maryland. Our innovative approach allows our therapists to utilize the latest digital tools to deliver effective therapeutic services, ensuring accessibility and convenience for both staff and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver individual therapy sessions in the clientโ€™s home or facilitate group therapy sessions in our outpatient center, utilizing evidence-based practices to promote positive outcomes.
  • Implement structured interventions including anger management, coping strategies, and social skills training, aimed at reducing high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) or physical aggression.
  • Enhance the decision-making skills of youth and their caregivers to effectively navigate and manage behavioral challenges present at home.
  • Work collaboratively with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care, integrating multidisciplinary perspectives into therapeutic planning.
  • Maintain timely and comprehensive documentation including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Participate actively in monthly team meetings, contributing insights and recommendations that inform ongoing treatment strategies.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily serves children aged 3-20 who are facing a variety of developmental and intellectual disabilities. Our clientele is diverse, and the LMFT will work closely with families to address their unique needs, enhancing their quality of life and overall mental health. By offering bilingual therapy options in Spanish or Portuguese, we ensure that language is not a barrier to accessing essential mental health services.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a closely related field.
  • An active, unrestricted LMFT license in the state of Maryland.
  • Availability for at least 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours, with the potential for weekend sessions as necessary.
  • A valid driverโ€™s license and the ability to use your own vehicle for client visits.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprint verification.
Preferred Experience
  • Proven experience in providing positive behavior support and interventions to children with developmental challenges.
  • Background working with children who have intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD), enhancing your ability to tailor approaches to individual circumstances.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is USD 80,000 to 100,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to competitive pay, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • A dynamic work environment that fosters teamwork and innovation.
  • Annual paid time off to recharge and maintain work-life balance.
  • Group health coverage ensuring access to medical, dental, and vision services.
  • Ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and career trajectory.
  • Short-term and long-term disability coverage for peace of mind.
  • A robust 401(k) plan to help you plan for your future.
Career Growth Opportunities

At Global Life Mental Healthcare, we believe in nurturing our team members' professional development. You will have numerous opportunities for advancement through training in specialized therapies, participation in community outreach programs, and the chance to take on leadership roles within our team.

Why Join Our Team
