Job description

*Candidates must reside in the north atlantic region for this role.
Job Overview:
Responsible for being the main point of contact and supporting specific regions of a specific natural market. Heavily involved in the resolution of day-to-day issues involving servicing customer. Manage, direct, and coordinate all sales plans and programs. Create partnering relationships of trust, integrity, customer satisfaction, and loyalty. Oversee the servicing of the accounts and meet the customer's needs. Execute the existing sales team's plans and goals designed to increase sales and profits and to minimize expenses. Monitor Key Performance Indicators and provide recommendations to achieve operational metrics and increase sales and profits. Ensure professional business relations exist with customers and their needs are met.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with all UNFI departments to ensure the Region's needs are met regarding fill rates, promotions, on-time delivery, order quality, etc.
  • Ensure requests, needs, and questions are promptly resolved. Follow up on all notices for action and new opportunities.
  • Coordinate necessary meetings and communication, both internal and external, to address any issues relating to servicing WFM and related accounts.
  • Provide recommendations regarding improvements in processes, sales and service delivery, programs, and procedures.
  • Ensure appropriate customer Regional and Global teams & stores are aware of UNFI processes, policies, and procedures, and other information relevant to the business.
  • Exceed customer expectations.
  • Coordinate planning and ensure implementation of effective sales programs and policies.
  • Assist Senior Management with long and short-term sales strategies initiatives and programs.
  • Ensure sales plans complement and support established Company-wide goals.
  • Ensure sales goals are met or exceeded.
  • Research and evaluate current and potential operations and process opportunities, with focus on those that impact sales and execution. Develop recommendations.
  • Assist with forecasting for volume growth and related goals.
  • Assist in preparing the sales budget by sharing knowledge of the region and market dynamics.
  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining professional business relations with customers and other contacts.
  • Ensure the sales process is professional and effective.
  • Ensure the Company's professional reputation is maintained.
  • Maintain awareness of the Company's competitive position, industry trends, and the changing business environment

Job Requirements: Education/ Certifications/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business management (or a related field) or equivalent experience preferred
  • A minimum of two years of sales experience is preferred.
  • Experience in developing and carrying out business plans and/or sales plans
  • Experience in operations and logistics preferred
  • Experience with System Implementation preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Understanding of sales programs and related techniques
  • Understanding of Operations and Logistics
  • Knowledge of Company products
  • Ability to interact at all levels of business
  • Able to manage and coordinate projects
  • Good judgment is required for this position, as there may be times when direct supervision may not immediately be available.

Work Environment: Remote Role:
This position is classified as remote, where the associate will perform remote work from their primary residence. Remote associates are welcome to work from the office but are not required to do so. While remote associates are not required to work from an office on a regular basis, they may be required to come to the office or other UNFI locations for necessary business reasons or if directed to do so by their manager.
Travel (minor):
This position may require the associate to travel to company offices, distribution centers, or other locations for specific meetings or other business reasons.
