Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough evaluations to assess the intensity, frequency, and duration of symptoms related to mood disorders in clients.

  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to address clients’ concerns.
  • Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, various treatment options, and effective self-care strategies.
  • Continuously monitor and document client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure the effectiveness of therapy.
  • Work closely with an interdisciplinary team including psychiatrists and healthcare providers to deliver integrated care for clients.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development by keeping informed on the latest research and innovative practices in mental health.
  • Maintain comprehensive and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Participate actively in case consultations, team meetings, and training sessions to enhance your professional skills.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be working with individuals and families dealing with mood disorders, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. You will be instrumental in helping clients navigate life’s challenges, providing them with the tools and support necessary to develop resilience and foster healing. Your expertise will further extend to supporting vulnerable populations such as homeless individuals, refugees, and victims of domestic abuse, ensuring equitable access to mental health resources.

Qualifications
  • An active state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
  • A Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field is essential.
