Job description

Senior Business Development Manager
Remote - GA
Quanterix is a global leader in ultra-sensitive biomarker detection, enabling breakthroughs in disease research, diagnostics, and drug development. Its proprietary Simoaยฎ technology delivers industry-leading sensitivity, allowing researchers to detect and quantify biomarkers in blood and other fluids at concentrations far below traditional limits. With more than 3,400 peer-reviewed publications, Quanterix has been a trusted partner to the scientific community for nearly two decades. In 2025, Quanterix acquired Akoya Biosciences, The Spatial Biology Companyยฎ, adding multiplexed tissue imaging with single-cell resolution to its portfolio. Together, the combined company offers a uniquely integrated platform that connects biology across blood and tissueโ€”advancing precision medicine from discovery to diagnostics.
Lucent Diagnostics, a Quanterix brand, is pioneering ultra-sensitive, blood-based biomarker testing for Alzheimerโ€™s disease. Using Simoa Technology, Lucent empowers providers, health systems, and laboratory partners with earlier, more accurate detection to enable better patient outcomes. Our mission is to make highly sensitive blood-based biomarker testing the standard of care for neurodegenerative disease by reducing reliance on invasive and costly diagnostic procedures.
ROLE SUMMARY:
To support continued growth, Lucent Diagnostics is hiring a Sr. Business Development Manager focused on expanding adoption of Lucent tests across reference laboratories, health systems, and provider networks. In this role you will work cross functionally with Commercial, Laboratory Operations, Medical Affairs, and Market Access to identify, structure, and execute partnerships that scale Lucent testing nationally.

What Youโ€™ll Do:
  • Identify, prioritize, and pursue strategic business development opportunities with reference laboratories, integrated delivery networks, health systems, and large provider groups
  • Own the end-to-end sales process for Lucent testing partnerships, from initial engagement through contracting, launch, and volume ramp
  • Develop and manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities focused on Lucent LDT adoption and test volume growth
  • Forecast expected test volumes and provide regular updates to Lucent leadership on pipeline health, deal progression, and revenue outlook
  • Partner closely with Lucent leadership to align commercial opportunities with laboratory capacity, operational readiness, and reimbursement considerations
  • Provide mentorship and on-boarding support on an as-needed basis for new and/or junior BDMs on the Lucent team
  • Lead customer discussions related to clinical utility, implementation workflows, reporting, and operational integration of Lucent testing
  • Collaborate with Medical Affairs and Market Access to ensure customer conversations are aligned with evidence generation, coverage strategy, and policy positioning
  • Represent Lucent Diagnostics at relevant scientific, clinical, and industry meetings focused on neurodegenerative disease and diagnostic testing
  • Maintain a strong understanding of customer needs, competitive dynamics, and evolving market trends related to blood based Alzheimerโ€™s diagnostics
  • Other duties as necessary
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 8-10 years of experience in business development and sales in diagnostics sales including genomics, proteomics, and laboratory medicine
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree required in a life sciences or related field, advanced degree a plus
  • Demonstrated experience selling clinical laboratory services, diagnostic testing, or healthcare solutions to laboratories, health systems, or provider networks
  • Strong understanding of LDTs, clinical laboratory workflows, test adoption drivers, and health system decision making
  • Ability to engage credibly with clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders
  • Proven track record of building and advancing complex, multi-stakeholder deals
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities in parallel
  • Technology familiarity with the ability to gain proficiency using a Customer Relationship Management system (preferably Salesforce), expense reporting system, Microsoft Office Tools required
  • Comfortable operating in a fast paced, evolving organization where infrastructure is still being built
  • Current familiarity utilizing internet/social media tools for researching potential leads/prospects desired
  • Candidate must be a strong communicator and team player who is accountable and trustworthy
EXPECTATIONS, COMPETENCIES, SKILLS amp; ABILITIES:

  • Remote - GA
WHY YOUโ€™LL LIKE WORKING WITH US:
Our Technology:
From discovery to diagnostics, Quanterixโ€™s ultrasensitive biomarker detection is fueling breakthroughs only made possible through its unparalleled sensitivity and flexibility. Simoaยฎ technology has delivered the gold standard for earlier biomarker detection in blood, serum or plasma, with the ability to quantify proteins that are far lower than the Level of Quantification (LoQ). Our industry-leading precision instruments, digital immunoassay technology and CLIA-certified Accelerator laboratory have supported research that advances disease understanding and management in neurology, oncology, immunology, cardiology, and infectious disease.
Akoya Biosciences, a Quanterix company, is The Spatial Biology Companyยฎโ€”bringing tissue context to life through high-resolution, single-cell imaging. Akoyaโ€™s spatial phenotyping platforms help researchers visualize and measure how cells organize and interact within tissue to influence disease progression and therapeutic response. From discovery through clinical research, Akoya offers a full continuum of solutions, including PhenoCyclerยฎ, PhenoImagerยฎ Fusion and HT, and PhenoCodeโ„ข Panels. As part of Quanterix, Akoya complements a leading portfolio of ultra-sensitive biomarker detection technologies, together enabling a more complete view of biology and disease across both tissue and blood.
