Work Environment

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of individuals seeking treatment for substance use disorders, identifying their unique needs and goals to create tailored recovery plans.

  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy.

  • Facilitate supportive group therapy sessions that encourage community, healing, and shared experiences among participants in their recovery journey.

  • Collaborate with psychiatrists and addiction specialists to coordinate integrated care, ensuring a well-rounded approach to treatment and recovery.

  • Provide crisis intervention and immediate support to patients during substance-related emergencies, ensuring their safety and stabilization.

  • Educate patients and their families on addiction, recovery strategies, and available community resources to foster understanding and support.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring all patient interactions are documented appropriately.

  • Engage in regular team meetings, case consultations, and professional development opportunities to improve service delivery and stay informed of advancements in addiction treatment.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Change Point Counseling Center primarily serves individuals struggling with substance use disorders. This includes those in various stages of recovery, from initial assessment to ongoing support. Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

  • Current and valid licensure as a LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Georgia.

  • Strong understanding of substance use disorders, evidence-based treatment methods, and recovery-oriented care.

  • Demonstrated experience providing both individual and group therapy specifically within the context of addiction treatment.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating a non-judgmental and empathetic demeanor in all patient interactions.

  • Proficiency in maintaining professional boundaries while adhering to ethical guidelines and ensuring patient confidentiality.

  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant computer applications.

  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing positively to collaborative care efforts.

Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in mental health counseling, particularly focused on substance use disorders.

  • Experience in crisis intervention strategies and techniques.

  • Ongoing professional development through relevant workshops or certifications.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is competitive, offering between USD 80,000 and 100,000 annually, complemented by performance-based bonuses and a sign-on bonus to welcome you to our team.
