Work Environment

The position is fully remote, allowing for flexibility in your work-life balance while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of professionals. Although the role is primarily virtual, we maintain a robust team-oriented culture, emphasizing communication and collaboration through digital platforms. Your typical work schedule will be from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with the possibility of evening shifts as needed based on patient demands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients seeking treatment for substance use disorders to identify their unique needs and objectives.
  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans, focusing on evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to each patient.
  • Provide one-on-one counseling sessions utilizing techniques such as motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT).
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions to create a supportive community environment for individuals in recovery.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, addiction medicine specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated patient care.
  • Provide crisis intervention and respond effectively during substance-related emergencies, ensuring patient safety.
  • Educate patients and their families about addiction, crafting personalized recovery strategies and connecting them with community resources.
  • Maintain comprehensive and confidential documentation in strict compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Participate actively in team meetings, case consultations, and continuous professional development initiatives.
  • Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in the field of substance use disorder treatment.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clinic primarily serves adults facing challenges associated with substance use disorders. Many of our clients come from diverse backgrounds and varying levels of addiction severity, requiring a compassionate, tailored approach to treatment. As a Mental Health Counselor, you will be instrumental in guiding these individuals and their families through the recovery process, offering guidance, understanding, and practical support.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • A valid professional licensure as LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of New Jersey.
  • In-depth knowledge of substance use disorders and a strong grasp of evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Proven experience in both individual and group therapy settings, particularly within the context of addiction treatment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, complemented by a non-judgmental and empathetic demeanor.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries while adhering to ethical guidelines and ensuring patient confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and various computer applications is preferred.
Preferred Experience
  • A minimum of one year of clinical experience in a mental health setting, specifically dealing with substance use disorders.
  • Experience in a community health clinic or similar environment focused on addiction recovery is highly desirable.
Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from USD 80,000 to 100,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
